PR dropped without any update

On last PR update, I got PR2 for my blog. It was all ok. But today suddenly it's dropped to PR1.
Any ideas what might have happened?? :confused:

    The Panda release included a number of updates, any of which could have impacted your PR score. The most publicised change included a focus on spammy or 'low quality' content, specifically on un-original content i.e that which is scrapped from other sites and presented as your own. If your site includes lots of duplicated content then this is very likely to impact your positioning on SERPs.

      I don't have any duplicate content. It was all good till yesterday. On last PR update I had PR2 and search traffic also increased a bit. Don't know what happened, yesterday it dropped to PR1 and search traffic also decreases a bit. Totally confused. What to do? :confused:

    This problem is a kind of interesting..

    I haven't got on my websites but i know people that has had the same issue.

    I can not take any conclusion about it , but i am interested if someone has a "stientific" answer.

    check your backlinks, one reason for PR to fall is when you loose some of your backlinks (the ones giving you PR juice)

        There's Opensiteexplorer, ahrefs, your webmaster tools account etc.

    Google released a PR update a couple of weeks ago and it would appear it has just hit you. You need new regular content added to the site on a regular basis and it should recover

        When did you notice the drop? There was just a PR update about 2 weeks ago.

        It could just be an error with your PR checker. Also could be a difference in PR between your WWW and non-WWW version of your site.

    It's called "Minor Update". Minor update of page rank can happen with every website and usually every weeks.. Different with "Major Update" for every 3 month

      Yeah I got PR2 about 2 weeks ago. Then suddenly it dropped to PR1 yesterday. :confused:

    Hi Friends,

    Ya me too have the same experience... Suddenly it shows PR2 on the same week it shows PR0 without any google update. Here i am using SEO Book tool bar in that it shows PR2 where as While check in the Page rank checker site it shows PR0. How can i rectify these type of issues??? Friends kindly suggest me... Thanks for your useful information

      I asked in Google Product forums. One of the user said my backlinks are devalued. Don't knw how that happened.

        In the past decade or so since I started tracking PR, my sites have always received PR updates when PR update happens on all sites. I have never experienced a minor update so learned a new thing here today.

          You didn't learn anything. Minor updates between major updates don't exist. The poster made it up out of his imagination. Various things can cause the PR not to show (the tool bar service is down, the site fell out of the index etc) but the claim of minor PR updates is pure foolishness.

              Because they are stupid man.

              Use SEOSpyglass to check your backlinks are still active.

              Also use checkpagerank.net to check your pr, it gives you accurate data.

              Do not rely on the toolbar.

              Then again why even worry about PR? The only people that do are either looking to sell links (banned) or are proud to have something that 80% of your customers don't even know exsists...

              Focus on creating a great site that people want and pr will happen automatically.

                I never worried about SEO or PR. But after the PR drop my search traffic also dropped a little. That's why I was looking for a solution.
