SEO Wordpress ?

Hey Guys,

I am working on my store for the wife (she sells boutique items) and I wanted to know if it was ok to put it in a subfolder? Will this hurt SEO if I did this? I currently have a splash page for the store then when you click on it it will take you to website/store.

I will also be having a blog on my store site. Posting daily deals and how to articles. Let me know

Splash pages aren't a good thing IMO.

Splash pages are neither good for SEO or for the customer experience.

Thanks for the heads up guys. Well I will make sure once I have the store ready for release to move it to the root directory then. I just need to do some research on how to transfer wordpress to root.

My issue right now is that I am getting traffic and I didnt want them to be searching the store when its not complete.

  In the wordpress menu there's a section for privacy settings, you can select the "let search engines not find my site"
  
  Or create a robot.txt and tell them to not crawl it. It won't effect your SEO just be sure to turn it back on after you're completed with it all.
