Well, as the title of this thread suggests, does anyone know IF or HOW you can stop your Facebook ads from being shown to mobile users. I have something I only want desktop or tablet users to see. Anyway to do this or not?

Huh? Is what static or Wordpress?

I am running Facebook ads and don't want them to show on mobile devices. I am talking about a possible setting inside of Facebook ads to turn off your ads from showing on mobile.

I see what your saying now..but my original comment still stands.
No, I don't want that because as I said, I don't even want the ads showing to mobile users.

btw Joel +1 on that dude.
I saw that but it still doesn't answer the question of HOW to do it.

Does anyone know HOW to do it. That is all I am interested in.

I have tried to change it from the main ad page and I can tell you it doesn't allow it from there as i've checked every tab and option there countless times and it doesn't seem to allow that filtering.

Thus, i'm like Will here and will wait to see if others know how to do it!

            btw..it's in advanced targetting.

That's epic...I'm messing with that idea today.
Thanks for that. Yes I have seen that.

But once again I am looking for a way to NOT target mobile users.

That just allows you to target them specifically from what I understand.

You got to click the damn thing for it to expand and reveal: TARGET Tablet users only....

That means, it will NOT be shown to all those other phones and android BS.

              Click the tabs....
Okay well now i'm feeling real silly, where is it I can't see this option no matter how many times I try to find it? Do you know what he means Will?

              Thanks

Otherwisse ...why the F is that option even there...

I assumed you want Tablet users to see it:
Yeah, sorry I do want tablet users to see it but I still can't be sure that cancels out the default. You will see in those options there is no tablet only choice. It is 'smarphone/tablet' so people on smartphones would still see that.

Also how would I target the desktop users if I select one of those options. I am assuming selecting one of those mobile options would then mean you are targeting only them so the desktop users would now not see the ad.

I'm hoping someone here who knows and has done it before can shed some light on this.

              Seriously...

By default your ads are shown to both desktop and mobile users (as far as I understand).

By clicking on those options you are talking about (yes, I have seen them) you can choose to target certain types of tablet and/or mobile users. You CANNOT choose to turn off all mobile users though and once again, that is what I am trying to do.

I don't see it in advanced targeting do you have a different facebook ads section to me?

Edit: Thanks Will, I thought this didn't answer the problem!

This article says clearly it is possible although like you Will i'm not sure how to do it:

"Facebook also allows ad campaigns to be run using desktop or mobile only audiences, giving you greater ability to custom tailor an advertisement to your tastes."

Will, this should probably be in the PPC sub forum...but anyways...

I think FB purposely does not let advertisers opt out of showing ads to mobile users. It would hurt their revs badly, and their stock hasn't exactly been a top performer for 2012.

Anyone know how to contact FB Ads direct?.....this is taking the piss.

[EDIT:] Make that 19 times now..my latest attempt just got rejected too.
I just got some ads approved in no time at all. I would say if you have had 18 attempts not approved there must be something they are not liking about the ad or the destination url.

Good luck contacting them directly -- no chance!

Hi have you found a solution to this? I think I may have a work around but it's not pretty! When placing ads it will create you 2 ads a right column ad and a newsfeed ad.

It appears to me that rigth column ads are not shown to mobile users so you can "pause" your newsfeed ad and leave the right colmn ad showing. Hense only targeting desktop users.

However, i have the same problem mobile traffic to our site has a huge bounce rate so dont really want to be paying for that traffic. So i'll be testing this myself but if you have found a better solution please let me know,

    Many Thanks!
