Hello Warriors,

I have a website related to say niche X. I have around 1000+ visitors daily with an average page view of ~ 2. In order to increase page views i am planning to include a time pass section for games, chat, guestbook, forums etc which are general in nature.

Will Google see this as negative SEO as I am diverting from my niche? If so what are the precautions that I should take?

Thanks
Thomas

Negative seo is something malicious some one does to harm to your site rankings. Google might take a closer look at your backlinks, and obviously this might bring you down. There are arguments about the ethics inside the search engine industry. Personally, I think that removing low quality crap from the Internet is all of our jobs, and I like to be part of that. I think that it's a good thing to make the Internet a better place, and if you're not making the Internet a better place, I hope that you're not doing web marketing because it makes the rest of our industry look bad.

You can provide extra stuffs in sidebar, it would increase visit time as well, but the stuffs should be related to your site.
