Most people are sure that $200 per month is not enough for a decent link building campaign. But what if $200 per month is the maximum that you can squeeze from your tight budget on SEO? Don't you really have any chances to bring your website on the first page of Google?

What's the competition? That's a bit of an empty question, if there's little competition, $0 a month would be plenty and you'll probably still have a bit left over

$200 month might buy you quality articles and content for the month. Good for onpage SEO. You'll need to spend more if you want to build backlinks for off page SEO.

That is not true, you can buy monthly rented links for $5-25/mo and I mean quality ones from private sellers. While onpage seo is important that stuff he could easily do himself with the wealth of knowledge here on Warrior forum.

Spend that money on backlinks and you will get way better results IMO.

Can't speak for the OP, but I prefer hire experienced copywriters that can write articles that my readers not only love to read, but subscribe to, like, retweet, and post links around the net helping me build backlinks from their work and resources.

To get good content you have to pay....

I spend over $200 month on content, but the return in ad clicks are 10x that amount. No sense in building backlinks if your content sucks.

Really? How many crappy spam blogs / websites do you see in the top 3 position now-a-days?

Good content does help rankings, and it's two fold. One it builds visitor loyalty so they continue to come back (and opt-in to your email mailing list). Two it makes your loyal readers excited to sharing your content all over the interweb.

Good content is very, very important. Atleast try to make your website worth linking to.

You dont see crappy sites cuz they have crappy backlinks too. Its not just about content or links, its both but the content is still secondary to amazing backlinking.

I think here keyword competition is the most important part .
If you have low competition keyword then $200 is enough per month basis .

For easy & medium competition it could be ok thou you might need to subscribe and resubscribe to arrive at top position for all your primary keywords.

However, if you are doing it yourself and have the major tools, $200 is a nice start..
