Safe Backlink Building Help Please

Hi there,

I have never been a big shot in seo im the guy who does it as a hobby, obviously from the topic discussion. For the first time in my working career I might have a shot at doing some work for a friends company and if they works out well their clients aswell.

On my own websites I tried out hundreds of different ways for a low income person like myself to boost them on google, article directory's, youtube, social media 2.0 websites, blog comments, forum sigs, backlink exchange, seo plug-ins, software descriptions, torrents, and more.

But this time it different, its not my own website and I want to do a good job, what forms of backlink building will I be able to use to actually report back to these people.

    Mostly local .co.uk I already got two of their words to page one as a tester to myself and them. Now their not SEO masterminds the keywords themselves dont have a high search volume but because its an insurance company they want to be number one even on some words which I would class as useless.

    Now im only talking about small money atm, I said 50 pound a keyword which I approve of, (low price I know) but my friend said if I succeed they will pay for any monthly seo services I need and pay a monthly fee, and refer their clients so could be a big break either way I'm a chef atm

    I'm doing a lot of work in the insurance niche right now. It would be nice if you had a larger budget to work with. Even for local SEO it can be kind of competitive.

    Being a local project, you need to get their Google+ for business page up and running if it is not already. Make sure it is optimized correctly. Then you need to be seeking out citations for the business. Best way to get citations is local business directories. I do not have my list of UK directories in front of me, but in the U.S. I use things like Yelp, Localeze, iBegin, Best of the Web, Yahoo, Bing for business, Brownbook, Manta, MerchantCircle, etc. Some of those are in the U.K. too.

    I would also be looking for sites within the community you might be able to get links from. Maybe other local businesses they work with. Sometimes towns and cities have a lot of "Things to do in.... " type pages. Links or ads on them are great. In the U.S., I use the local Chamber of Commerce site.

    Stuff like that.

    I would stay away from most of the link building techniques you mentioned in the first post. Links like blog comments and forum profile links can do more harm than good to their site.

    just post on related sites to your niche and with various anchor texts and in a steady speed, and make people to share your site on social media so you get the trust from google
