ood answer.I know about the importance of the quality content. But you can not rank on that way. That's why my questions was for off page optimization. What is considered 100% white hat and what is effective.

The best link practice is to provide value to your reader and let them decide to give a backlink for you or not. It's natural backlink and best for the long run.

Ever notice that people who spend money on WSO, memberships and courses, are always complaining about being broke and not making any money ?

They should have bought ASSETS instead.

Do what ever you can. Proper on-page works surely help a lot. so after that do natural link building and growth of that should be from white hat techniques.

authority links from press releases, edu/gov websites etc + links from niche targeted websites- guest blog posts, targeted comments etc + social signals
use different anchors, unique texts, don't blast (make it look natural), don't leave footprints, and use blog networks only for 2nd tier

Guest Posting is very good at this point for SEO. Also if you have a Ecommerce site, try doing product reviews in different forums. This will help you get some traffic.

Avoid mass submission and find high PR blogs to post on. Contact bloggers with nice blogs and ask to quest post. NEVER use spun or encoded articles, use only high quality and fresh articles for your link building campaign.

There hasn't been any change in the way you build links. Its just the change in the content rules in the Penguin update. So the techniques remain the same.

Links from home page work, but sidebar links are risky.

What do you mean by that? Links from the body of the homepage? Do you mean that Google my consider sidebars as paid links? What about links in footer? What about blogrolls?

  • After the Penguin update, it is important to get a wide variety of backlinks from different sources, using anchor text variation. Google is also placing a strong emphasis on social signals (links from sites such as twitter, facebook, delicious, etc... google +). As always, your link building should look normal, so it is important to get a mixture of dofollow, as well as nofollow, backlinks. Backinks from authority sites (those sites with a PR greater than 6) are always powerful.

Are links with pr 6 authority, or you meant 7+?

Honestly even before penguin and for years now only one thing has consistently worked to rank websites. High Page Rank backlinks on related niche sites.

I am moving up rankings amazingly fast using this technique. Its expensive but it works.

Really nothing has changed in SEO, the only difference is the quality of the sites that your inbound links are coming from.

We've reached the point where most of our clients are other SEOs who outsource link building to us because very few networks are still working. We go to great lengths and spend hundreds of thousands of dollars every year to keep ours kicking some serious butt

It doesnt matter about the google update..no matter which one it is. Keep using white hat techniques and you will rank. Use black hat techniques and an update like penguin will destroy you.
