Hey everyone , im having some issues deciding what to use when optimizing my blog posts , plural or singular , let me explain what i mean by that

I have 2 keywords , lets say "dog training" and "dog trainings" , as you can see the second one is the same just plural . Both keywords are good and i included variations of both in my article but i want to know what should i use for Title tag and description .

If i use Title like "My best dog trainings" , will i be able to rank for both keywords?

Or, if i put title like "My best dog trainings - Dog Training tips" . In this title i cover both plural and singular but i dont know if this will be considered as keyword stuffing ?

What do you think about it ?
#keywords #plural #singular

you can squeeze them in both

Title: Dog Trainings | Best dog training tips

But please try not to overdue stuff like this, its looks bad. if you have any other seo questions I just opened a thread

I heard somewhere that Google ignores anything after a pipe symbol "|" so some recommend to use a hyphen instead. What are your thoughts on this?

Oh I just noticed what you used is a backwards slash, but still love to hear your thoughts on this, thanks.

by overdue I mean, if you have a site with 100 pages, dont do more than 10 with a title like that.

and another tip - always start with the main keyword phrase.

For title tag and description, it is depended on main keyword of your site, but you usually can use both singular and plural keyword for tag and description.

Thanks for answers guys , what about if i dont repeat the word Dog in it 2x?

Dog trainings and Tips for Training

Do you think that this way google will look at it and see both keywords, or it has to be exact match . I am asking this because i noticed when searching that even though i search for exact words i get results in google that only contain those words , they are not exact match , google puts them in bold blue .

    Thanks

Look at this example for singular keyword: "Tech Suppot" we can say that it's an singular keyword.
Second example is: "Online Tech Support Services" in this keyword we can see multiple keyword. This type of keyword called as plural keywords.

This is interesting example , but will it be good if you want to rank for "Online Support" or " Tech Services" since these words are separated in this phrase

Google does not ignore pipe symbol, it normally helps you separate the keywords, there are two options for writing the title, one is through writing as as sentence with main keywords i.e. "Dog trainings tips and tricks" followed by your website name and second one is through including three main keywords separated by pipe and followed by your website name.

What is natural? Do people say "dog trainings"? Probably not in this case. Reading it looks weird and I for one would think poor quality.

For other things, you can go both ways. But usually one form is used more often and I find it's usually the plural. Example, I do PPC for a client selling motorcycle helmets. Most people search on the plural even though most people have only one head and therefore need only one helmet.

Just make it natural looking and sounding.

I'm assuming this was just the OP's example...but do not use 'dog trainings'. Don't start a website with poor grammar in the title and description.

I would tend to do something like: Main Keyword: Catchy thing about main keyword

and then if you really want the plural as well put it in the <H1 or H2> tag in the article itself. Add 5% contextual backlinks to the plural spelling of it.

My point is you do not need it in the title...The point of the title is to get people who see it to be intrigued, click it and view the rest of the site. Do not write titles just for search engines.

I always use the most natural form.

dog training but not dog trainings

dog training tips but not dog training tip

If there is any product keyword like

    New camera

Then plural would be more valuable

    New Cameras

people who are searching with this term "new cameras" are highly motivated to buy a camera..

Target both the singular & plural keyword, most sites usually have more than 1 web page.
