What is Panda, Penguin, etc.

I've been doing IM for a while now but this is something that is new to me.

I've been reading up on the forums and have seen these terms thrown out there.

I am assuming they are robots that check for uniqueness?

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, thanks!

They were just updates to Google's algorithms

Some were spam updates and others were just quality updates.

If you use the search function you'll find thousands of threads on them
