Related Keywords Question???

Hey Warriors,

A few years back I recall Google used to offer a 'Keyword' wheel, which showed related keywords etc.

It seems like good sense to add related keywords to your articles along with the primary keyword as SEO snipers taught etc.

I am curious if related keywords matter anymore since Google wants everything to seem more natural? I am creating blog articles that target 2 or 3 long tail keywords, and I'm wondering if there is such a tool anymore to find keywords that Google considers to be most closely related to my primary keywords so I can sprinkle them in my posts?

Is that even necessary or advisable after the Penguin & Panda updates? Good idea? Bad idea?

Would appreciate some feedback from you SEO'ers out there please.

Hey Randall

Of course it's an awesome idea! The more traffic the better and it is definitely natural to rank for related as well as main keywords.

Typically to find related keywords I just use Google Adwords Keyword Tool which you can find here

Randall,

It is definitely a good idea to use related longtail keywords in your articles. After all, people using search terms will not always use the exact same phrase when looking for specific content and will use variants. This will give your article broader appeal. Just remember that if you are optimizing a page for a specific keyword, make the page about that keyword (i.e. all content on the page, title, headers, meta description). The variations of the keyword (as long as they are still very related to it) will help bolster the article.
