I am having a wordpress website created and I am simply looking for any plug ins that will automate any effective marketing techniques so I can spend more time on my business as I am only a one man company with little time to spare.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thank you

What do you need the email marketing plug in to do? I have some in mind, but they all do different things.

The only one that might get this done for you is ABC3000. Go to http://www.automaticbacklinkplugin.c...creator-plugin. This has just about everything you are looking for

I don't think there's a special Wordpress plugin for that, but I'm sure there must be lots of stand alone apps. Though I don't think any of the practices you mentioned above will do you any good...

Don't use SEO plug-ins they really don't work in my opinion, I'll recomend you to put some meta tags, there's free meta tags generators, use also optimized text and download a key word plug-in there's no need to spend in Plug-ins or ad on s. Optimizing a website is not big deal.
    Happy 2013.
    All the Best.

@Spayne - What are we talking about for this email marketing plugin? Do you want something to display opt-in forms/pop overs etc?

"effective marketing techniques" - any chance you could be more specific? WordPress can do a lot of things and there's a lot of plugins that can do these things for you although most of them (e.g. automated linking stuff) aren't worth doing.

Most of the time when people try to automate things it goes a bit pear shaped and doesn't quite work out right.

I suggest just using the following -
    • An SEO plugin - WordPress SEO by Yoast will do the job (or try platinum SEO).
    • Site map plugin if you don't use the Yoast plugin - Google XML Sitemaps works well.
    • A caching plugin - Try WP Super Cache for this
    • Social sharing plugin - Try something like Digg Digg or Add this
    • Social plugin to display your social profiles - You can try social media widget or use something called "WP MashSocial Wigdet" intentional typo as that's what it's listed as on the WP plugin directory, looks similar to what Mashable uses
    • A plugin to block spam - BotBlocker or GASP work well.
    • A plugin to improve engagement - Comment Luv works really well here (not essential but makes a difference)
    • Triberr - this is great for social sharing but you really need to engage with people (not essential but will make a difference)
    • Plugin for displaying opt-in forms - There's a few good ones, I use Hybrid Connect but WP Subscribers & Optin Skin are really good too

I understand the difficulty of being a one man business but the strongest thing you can do for your business is engage in a content strategy that speaks directly to your target audience and build relationships with bloggers within your industry/niche - it's a long term strategy but it's going to benefit you the most.

@Spayne, This is awesome advice. I feel kind of bad that I didn't mention most of this stuff. This is a good start.

Adam gave you some great advice.

Try not to get too caught up with plugins, though, as people often get crazy with them and it ends up hurting their site rather than helping.

No plugin is going to save a bad theme structure. Just saying.
