Im trying to make do with the free keyword tools that are available.

Basically Put, i want to find out how many people are searching for, lets say for this example, lose weight.

Now, i want to find out how many people typed those exact two words into the search and pressed enter, either how many per day or per month (avg).

Ive been using the google adwords keywords tool, and the wordtracker free keyword suggestion tool.

These Are adwords keyword tool results for lose weight..

    Hi New Life,

The AdWords Tool is showing you actual data, while WordTracker is showing you an estimate extrapolated from a relatively small data set.

They are not that far apart, keep in mind that Wordtracker is showing you daily volume while the AdWords Keyword Tool is showing you monthly volume. If you read the documentation, then you already know that the exact matching option is the only one that shows you data from the exact keyword.

The Wordtracker number is within 18% of the actual Google data, so that's not bad considering the approximate 0.63% sample size that they extrapolate from.

I would go with Google in a contest like this.

They own the search engine and so you would think they have the best idea of what stats you will get. Wordtracker is a great site to though, and as stated above it is quite accurate.
