As you most likely know, social bookmarking can both solidify and improve your link building, while also offering a steady stream of direct traffic.
But in this case, when I say to "social bookmarking", I do it a bit differently than most of you do. Let me explain a little more first...

You can select the sites based on a number of factors, one of which is "dofollow", meaning that when Google crawls those sites, your links will show as legitimate backlinks to your website, and therefore Google will 'count' that as a real link. These sites are all significant web properties on their own, so
having your links on them looks good in Google's eyes. Not only that, this is also a great way to get new webpages indexed in Google.

Here is how I approach my web promotion:

When I setup a site I try to submit the following using this tool (some times I don't get to all of these, but doing each one of them is the goal):

1. My pages (each one)
2. Articles posted on other websites linking to me
3. Videos I have posted on YouTube.com
4. Sites that have organically linked to me
5. Images I have posted in flikr.com or another photo sharing website
6. Web 2.0 sites I have built that point to my main site, like HubPages
7. Basically any page that links to any page on my site!

The idea is to add value to your website's pages by adding value to pages that link to you. This in turn adds to your overall rank.
This will also give Google more visibility to the pages that link to you, and it assures Google that those pages are "important".
Now, back to the indexing idea I mentioned earlier. Using social bookmarking QUICKLY indexes webpages in Google. These social bookmarking sites are crawled very often, and thus Google indexes the links being submitted.
I take this idea one step further. What I do is find webpages that are linking to mine website, but ones that are not yet indexed in Google. I'll take those pages that aren't indexed yet (the URL of those pages) and submit them to various social bookmarking websites. Quickly, those pages get indexed in the search engines, thus providing my website with another powerful backlink!

The best part about this is that it's super quick and easy to do.

So where do you get these "unknown" and "not indexed" sites that have links to your sites?
There are several sites, but again, you need to be creative here and think outside the box. Below, I've provided a list of 20 sites that you can use with this method.
Use Meta Search Engines to find pages with your links. This is a great way to find a page containing a link to your website.

Here's what you do:

• Do a search for your domain that you want to get a link for. You'll then be taken to the search results page.
• On this search results page, you'll most likely see a direct link to the domain that you searched for.
• This search results page is the one you're going to be submitting to social bookmarking sites.
• So just copy the URL of that page, and start submitting!

If you got a few minutes to spare then you have about 20 free links!
In addition to the links below, you should do your own research to find meta search engines and other sites Take each of the following URL's and replace YOURDOMAIN.com with the domain name for your website.

If you are going to bust your hump at any point in the marketing process, do it in creating the website/content. Make it a brilliant experience for visitors. Ensure that social sharing buttons are easily accessible.

Then go to your audience. Find the top blogs in your niche and engage in the comments. Targeted visitors will go to your site through this methodology. And, if you have taken the time to create a responsive site, then those visitors will readily share the site through Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, StumbleUpon etc. That will bring in more visitors who will do the same - and you'll have a brilliant compound effect happening.
