How does Adwords count conversions? What's their counting method??

What counting method does Google AdWords use? Their DFA ad server has the ability to select which counting method is used; standard, unique, or per session.

I'm looking to run an Adwords campaign and only want to count one conversion per user. Rather than set up logic to only fire a pixel once per user I'd like to just place the conversion pixel on the conversion page. The only potential downside is the user will be visiting this page multiple times. Will Adwords count the conversion only once? Or will it count a conversion each time the pixel fires/a user comes to the page.

I'm not sure if I'm missing anything in Adwords - but I don,t see a place to select count one conversion per user, count a conversion each time, etc. Can someone also confirm this??

    Hi B Set,

AdWords conversions will track both unique and multiple conversions. The reports will show columns for both types.

    Types of conversions

There are two ways to count conversions with Conversion Tracking: 1-per-click and many-per-click. You can select the metric that's most useful for you when you set up Conversion Tracking.
    • Conversions (1-per-click)
Conversions (1-per-click) count a conversion for every AdWords ad click resulting in a conversion within 30 days. This means if more than one conversion happens following a single ad click, conversions after the first will not count. This metric is useful for measuring conversions approximating unique customer acquisitions such as leads and sign-ups.

    • Conversions (many-per-click)
Conversions (many-per-click) count a conversion every time a conversion is made within 30 days following an AdWords ad click. Conversions (many-per-click) will count multiple conversions per click. This metric is useful for measuring conversions that are valuable every time they happen such as purchases.
