Hey!

So I just kinda noticed that my blogger blog out of all my blogs is doing the best in terms of traffic. I take a completely different approach with it and it is promoted through Social Media versus SEO work. Google seems to absolutely love it...

I was just wondering what your thoughts are on this???
#blogger #favor #google #wordpress

Well, it should, because Blogger is a part of Google, wordpress is the competition.
I think always it favored them. Too bad the Blogger has a bit hard and non-intuitive coding platform. In this case Wordpress outranks them.

Try split testing on the same keyword to see which ranks better. It would seem that a site with wordpress installed on your own domain wins.

►This system pulled in over 25,000 sales in 2013 right under your nose and you probably laughed at it. But while you were laughing we were laughing all the way to the bank. Some to the tune of 6 and 7 figures. This year 10 times...

Unless you're referring to wordpress.com (which has nothing to do with marketers anyway, since monetization isn't allowed there), how a site ranks on Google has very little to do with what software it's made from. And with all Google's current international legal problems over allegations of "favoring themselves", they're hardly going to take a chance on that, anyway?

It's true that Wordpress has available some "extras" which can help with SEO.

      It doesn't matter, anyway.

"Blogger" isn't safe for marketers to use, and that ought to be the end of the discussion (I know it won't be, because inexperienced marketers apparently love to be dependent unnecessarily on dangerous third-party services, but it ought to be the end of the discussion).

is Wordpress really a better choice than Blogger in my case?

Im pretty sure they do favour it. Page one is full of loads of blogspot blogs with no original content. Put up a self hosted WP site even with original content and you find it's much harder to reach page 1.

The problem is though that Blogger blogs get deleted too easily because the spam system is flawed and it's got even worser in recently months, they must have been tweaking the algo. I decided to give blogger one last try this year, but my blog got deleted after just 4 posts after new years day so I decided that was the last straw. Im never using it again unless major changes are made.

I don't know why Google doesn't just implement a spam system similar to Squidoo's as it that platform seems far more robust. Im guessing it's because blogspot is more of a target for spammers because it doesn't require original content like Squidoo does. Google's war on spammers has ruined what was a good service.

Heck yeah, I've been noticing this trend lately too.

The Blogger blogs seem to really be kicking some butt in the search engines lately.

Have you seen the infamous make money blog created on Blogger, yet?

It was outranking everyone in search engines for coveted keywords like "make money online" and just about all the others.

    But here's the kicker,
they had NO content on it whatsoever. And it still was outranking everyone. Crazy.

BTW, that blog now has a little content on it and adds plastered all over it. I think an SEO Jedi is messing with everyone's heads, including Google's.

Bloggers tend to rank quickly and get indexed super quick, blogger can be useful for creating powerful backlinks and driving traffic to your main website. Wordpress has a lot of flexibility and options. I'd use blogger as a funnel for traffic and send it to my main site.

Well, it is no wonder as Blogger belongs to Google, however they just reward your efforts. They would play with fire if they plain just give more importance to Blogger than Wordpress.

Yes it should be favored by Google and the way you have tested it is the best way to prove this. Also it is fine for marketers. Keep within the rules of Google and you will be fine.

Anyone with any worries then keep copies of your posts - if they do remove anything then you can start it elsewhere - it's not rocket science.

i dont think anyone knows, some people say yes blogger is better because google owns it, others claim wordpress is better just in general some claim its better because it has better seo plugins and things like that.
