Had a decent month with AdSense this month. I noticed it said payment in process yesterday, and I awake this morning to find the Giant has made its deposit. It is good to see the long hours pay off.

    I was a bit worried when I saw the earnings drop, but then I realized they take out my 30% taxes up front. Still not a bad month x,xxx. Let's hope many more to follow. :-)

      What country are you from? In the US Google doesn't take out tax, we do that at the end of the year (ourselves).

    I am from the US and I can assure you, there is an option to have taxes taken out before it gets to you.

      If there's a US/tax option I've never noticed it, then again I signed up 6 years ago, been handling the tax money myself with zero problems.

    Let me rephrase that. Google took taxes out on my payment, whether I chose the option or not. All my forms were complete. Maybe I didn't do something right on my end. I didn't want the last comment to appear that I was trying to say your comment was wrong.

    I've been getting adsense payments for over 8 years and never had taxes taken out. You're responsible for your own taxes. At least here in the U.S. that's the case. What may have happened is that you're getting paid based on finalized earnings and not what you thought you made at the end of the month. Often times the finalized amount is lower after Google removes invalid clicks, etc. from the months total.

    I will post a screen shot when I get home as I am at work right now. Here is how my earnings posted. I had estimated earnings at the end of the month. Then it went to finalized earnings which was about $45 difference. It stayed that way until 2 days ago when it showed Payment in Progress. I looked at my earning and it showed finalized earnings on one line, taxes withheld on one line, and the amount they deposited into my account. The % of taxes they withheld was 30%. I am from the US also, in Alabama. Bank account is in Alabama. Account was signed up for and is being used in Alabama. I will look more into it when I can get home and log into the account.

    OK turns out I forgot to check the Exempt from backup withholding box right under my information. So google automatically took out the taxes. Either way, have to pay taxes right? Uncle Sam is going to get his share no matter what. At least I know why they did it now. Still would have been nice to see that extra 30%. Beggers can't be choosers though!

    If its a 30% cut due to invalid clicks, i strongly recommend you tweak your ad placements again as it might make google suspicious of deceptive placements. But very nice job still bama!

    good , and adsense check makes everyone feel good, but once you are on your comfort zone, don't get settled there, try to explore other monetizing sources like affiliate marketing etc..
