Not impressed from what I've seen. The guys own page looks like crap from an SEO point of view.

The site speed page is slow with that HUGE infographic.

    Defiantly fits in with Moz.

I've been following Neil P from the start (Marketing), he's a good guy.

I don't know much myself on SEO like most of you here, have reached out to some here but most are only doing there own thing.

The one guy helping out most is Mike Anthony.

yukon is like the WF Assistant on SEO he's cool too..

Neil P. Always helps a little guy.

All Moz does is sell, people get hooked on that junk & think it's helping them when all it's doing is opening up their wallet to make a sale.

I don't know much about Patel other than his own page sucks as far as SEO.

The guy is trying to load a single 1,247px x 21,596px .png image with a 3.8 MB file size. What makes it so pathetic is, the page title is:
Site Speed and Performance - The Advanced Guide to SEO

Images & page speed are some of the easiest things to do for SEO, this guy failed SEO 101.

        What a joke.

What's even funnier are his suggestions for link building. All he suggests basically, is to create decent content and hope to get linked to. Sure, that'll work, after 12-months of blogging your ass away for 8/hours day. Oh, he also suggests uploading a PDF document for backlinks..

Using his "strategy", it'd take me 8-months to rank an Amazon site.

I understand the page is horrible for it's slow load time, but honestly it's very easy to read and aesthetically pleasing. My question is how do you create nice free floating text like that on top of an image in a basic wordpress post? What program or editor is he using?

I don't participate on this board anymore but a thread participant PMed me to ask my opinion on that offer and I came across this thread. I haven't read any of neils stuff yet but here is my opinion on this discussion -

Some forum posters just have the personality that because they are not well known they will trash whoever is even for completely nonsensical reasons. It helps them to feel better about themselves but their criticism upon any deep analysis turns out to be total nonsense.

So the guy uses an infographic for teaching purposes on some of his pages? SO what? Is it the studied opinion of this board that a SEO must optimize every page for speed and SEO? No matter what else he is trying to achieve? Has it occurred to anyone that there are pages that a SEO might not even be trying to rank or want to rank? . Anyone that even bothered to educate themselves would see that Patel is into all kinds of traffic generation not just SEO so should you expect him to use only SEO in a launch (truth is for launches SEO is not optimal)? As matter of fact some people know how to use infographics to drive good traffic.

Who made the rule that it is forbidden even for teaching or traffic purposes for a SEO to use a large infographic (which as one person has already pointed out makes the lesson easy to follow and read)? Sorry thats absolute nonsense. Just because your internet access sucks doesn't mean everyone elses does. So the guy fails SEO 101 but just happens to have increased traffic for scores of top name companies?

Look at the portfolio of this guy

          Testimonials

Don't know him, never read him but if that portfolio is true then any sensible human being would concede he has an impressive client list including some of the top Internet companies online. So you have a guy well known for increasing traffic being criticized by someone who nobody even knows for a fact gets any traffic at all just based on an infographic. Think about it a few seconds and you will see how silly that is.

This is why you CANNOT learn SEO on this board and frankly why it is probably the worst board on the internet to discuss SEO (not bad for general IM though - only the SEO board really reeks). There is no deep thinking here, a bunch of silly criticisms, every body runs around like an expert and 95% of the board knows a few ( many questionable) SEO techniques and swears thats all there is.

Now if only I can get former customers and readers who Pm me about subjects like this to contact me away from here then I could retire in peace.

He did not use an infographic, it's a BIG azz background image with a plain text overlay on top of the 3.8 MB .png image. Look at the web page, or keep guessing.

His web page sucks for SEO, no real SEO tries to load a 3.8 MB background image.

                Nice try.

Direct traffic on a same niche forum isn't SEO.

easy solution - borrow some money and upgrade your internet connection. Its 2013 and dial up sucks. Every page loads in a few seconds for me. I mean goodness You claim to be raking in the cash with adsense:rolleyes: and a 3.8 meg background chokes your internet? this aint the 80s even dsl lite won't choke on that. Here use this (you can thank me later)

High Speed Internet Service by XFINITY® Internet from Comcast: Make Comcast your Internet Service Provider

Google checks page speed because it's a good indicator. If traffic will bail from the page.
I guarantee you Google does not use dial up anymore. Maybe you are thinking of Hotbot?

SEO is an acronym for Search Engine Optimization, nobody in this thread landed on the guys web page via the SERPs.
Yeah and you guys all listen to Yuke here - backlinks (even linkbait ones) like the ones in this thread dont matter squat for SEO. Apparently its only people landing on serps and then visiting the page that works for SEO. Google then does a head count - Get a Kinect to make sure they count your head properly - and wikipedia visits from fake wiki editor referrals counts double. You all better forget that link building thingy and go pay some guys over fiverr to click on your links in the serps. You know this is some great SEO advice because Yuke isn't using an infographic.

For the record I'm not hating on a guy I don't know,
Saying you aint doing what you are doing never really works - certainly no more than when people say they are not prying into your business even as they do. you hate on every person or organization that has more real proof of knowing SEO than you do.

Your the 2nd person to say he might have purposely made the page load slow
Hello? the guy does an entire chapter on load time. It would be obvious to a dog with a lobotomy reading it that he is aware of how to get pages to load fast and made a decision for non SEO reasons ( teaching purposes). You know this but dont want to admit it because it would destroy your narrative against the guy

                  I don't think so chief.

I would have to move in order to have another option besides AT&T DSL, I live 10 miles outside of town.

Totally forgot about this thread. I left a comment on his blog regarding the slow load time and the image size. This was the comment:

....I am curious to know why you have not optimized this site and that particular page to load more quickly. The image size alone on that infographic increases load-time drastically. Was this intentional?
He replied... this is what he had to say:

It’s tough as the graphics are large. I am getting it recoded so it will be a lot faster.
Seems like the graphic was just an SEO fail, but he still has my respect in the industry.

I continue to get Pms about this so obviously people are looking for some good free SEO advice and are being steered to junk the info by truly silly objections (notice so far NOT A SINGLE criticism of the actual information has been offered just how the guy used too large images to convey the ideas).

Your point is excellent. Any good SEO knows that there are times when SEO is not the paramount consideration. IF you don't know that then you can't provide truly professional level SEO. You would be like an electrician offering your services to solve a clogged up sink.

The info looks decent from what I have seen so far and it certainly beats 95% of the crap on this board. Don't let haters that can't stand someone else with more credential being talked about turn you off. The info is free and unlike 100% of posts on this board (thats right even mine) is from someone who is widely known and proven to work with some of the top companies in the world.

IF you pass on it because of objections from some anonymous forum poster who you don;t know a single real proven fact about (including if they rank for anything at all or get any traffic) you are doing yourself a disservice.

I agree about Danny Dover's book. It is probably the only SEO book I have ever read that I would actually recommend to someone. The link building stuff is mostly "build and pray" (yeah, I think I'm going to coin that phrase.), but the onpage SEO stuff is pretty solid.

The way the pages load this way is clearly intentional. He must be a complete idiot to preach about how light a page has to be and server a 4mb page.... and I know he is not. Neil is by far the best SEO blogger I have ever come across. Unlike most SEO bloggers, he shares a lot of solid information without holding back. Please guys go through a couple of his posts before saying any negative stuff about him.You see what I mean.

Sure it's intentional, so is fiverr SEO, doesn't make it any better.

I looked at a couple of other post on that so called advanced SEO, they all try load similar huge images for no reason.

      Good luck following that method.

Wow, I am suprised at how quickly people are to criticize based on areas that have nothing to do with the information this guy (Patel) is offering. I went through the first two modules and his information is top-notch. People pay premium for that sort of knowledge.

Over 95% of my sites are SEOed, but I have one site where I did absolutely zero SEO because I used a different traffic source. SEO was not even in the plan for that site.

I really believe the slow load time on that page was completely intentional by Patel and I would not be suprised if he releases another post/module where he demonstrates how he reduced the load time on the page/site.

If you look at that module you will see he used his own site to test page speed which is at a dismal rate (between 67-72/100). It will great marketing if he later releases a module to depict how he increased the load time on the site with the exact information provided in that particular module.

There are WSOs that are packaged with gold but inside there is complete junk, but this guys info. seems to be packaged imperfectly but inside is pure gold.

I will be interested to see if he does release another module to the tone of which I just spoke of but even if doesn't - the SEO education that he provided is exceptional IMO.

I left a comment on his site about the load time on that URL. Let's see what he has to say about it!

Your the 2nd person to say he might have purposely made the page load slow, I can't imagine a reason why anyone would do that.

Outside of SEO it's a completely poor user experience. I bailed before the huge background image finished loading, I'm sure other traffic did the same.

If he wanted to increase the page loading time all he would have to do is remove the HUGE background images, anyone that's an SEO knows that, it's not advanced SEO, it's common sense. Not meant to flame, just saying it's poor SEO & poor user experience at the same time.

Google checks page speed because it's a good indicator If traffic will bail from the page.

For the record I'm not hating on a guy I don't know, just the lack of SEO on a so called advanced SEO page that doesn't use SEO 101.

    The page speaks for itself.
