Hi warriors,
I want to create a new website for promoting a WSO. I already have an idea for the domain name. Since I want to sell my products and services locally, is it prudent for me to include the name of my country as part of the domain name (ie <<domainname>>countryname>>.com)? And will this affect my PR according to the google rules?

If there is search volume for your keyword on Google
(keyword also include country) then I think there
is no problem in ranking your site on Google.

Before everything, do you keyword research (Google Adwords keyword tool)!
Build your site in Wordpress platform and install plugins
like: site map plugin and all in one seo.
The next step is to include your keyword in domain name,
title and description of your site. I hope this will help you!

  • Dee4d,

If you are targeting a specific country, you will have far more success being visible in SERP’s for your local targeting if you purchase a country specific TLD.

    More info on that here,

I wouldn't do this, as most Im products have universal appeal.

Why would google care about your domain, let alone PR? You are mixed up
on how google chooses sites to show, as well as PR.

And you want to promote a WSO? On what?

If the country name is in domain then that domain would have higher ranking in that country!

I still think a .com would be better than a .co.<<countryname>>, what do you think. Moneymakerway, I have no problem with the set up for pluggins and KWR for optimizing on the articles, thanks though. Thanks TheContentAuthority, I now know exactly what to do. I'll set the geographic target of the domain with the generic TLD that I'll set up.
