What is wrong with Googlerankings?

I checked google rankings for two keywords I have been working on. I am 23 and 26 it says. Okay, moving in the right direction. Then, I do a google search with the Global firefox extension turned on for the US (I am outside the US) and I am actually 63 and 65.

Why such the huge discrepancy?

    This could be because of the different data centers.

    I once had the similar situation as my site was in top 10 for a particular keyword but was no where on global but after 7-10 days the results converged.

      Is Googlerankings based on US search results? I just assumed that the answer is yes.

      I hope the different data centers do indeed converge or else this tool is pretty worthless. I will report back.
