PPC vs Media buy

Hello,

People who market products through PPC and Media buys, which one is better?
If you own a personal product then it's wise to use both of those methods. However, if you sell products as an affiliate, it's pretty hard to to sell them through Adwords (high cpc + strict rules). So the only opinion is to use the Bing Adcenter.

So, let's say I found a product I want to promote as an affiliate (forget SEO this time please). Is it right, if I do the following?

1) Set it up to Bing Ads
2) Find relevant sites to the product that allow advertising. Contact with the webmasters and add my banners to their site.
3) Use "BuySellAds" site to find those relevant sites.
4) TRACK (but how, with what software?)

    You will need to test it out..Tracking is important as you will know which one give you a better ROI

      As Owen stated you need to actually test it out..imho it generally depends on various factors something that works for me might not actually work for you or vice versa..

    You advertise on every channel with a positive ROI, not just the best -- within your time & budget constraints, it doesn't matter how they rank, and you won't know that ranking until you test anyway. I advertise on Google, Bing, BSA, retargeting campaigns across all the major ad exchanges, e-mail, Twitter, Facebook and individual site placements.
