Moving on from "dead" domain names...

After trying for soooo many months, I think 2 of my domain names are officially "dead" in Google's eyes.

I mean, they are still in index, but they are not ranked in top 20 pages at all.

No matter how I change the content, backlinking, they don't move at all.

My last solution is to give up the domain name and work on a new one.

So my actions to be taken are:
1) Buy a new domain name, with the same name but different extension (eg. mydomain.com to mydomain.biz)
2) Do a 301 redirect for all my pages of mydomain.com
3) Move all the pages to mydomain.biz
4) Backlink with my private blog network, and other backlinking tools

Do you think that will work well? I've never done this so I rather ask you guys for details & assistance.

    Hey Joseph,

While I'm not familiar with your site, doesn't it depend on what may have caused the problem? If your link profile could be the issue, I think that redirecting your old domain to the new one may be counter productive.

    Just my opinion.
