    Hi Harry,

    Google has based nearly all their financial income exclusively on revenue from PPC ads. That tells you how strongly they believe in the viability of PPC. Many companies make millions of dollars through PPC marketing in part or in whole.

    It is a competitive market place and it requires some skill as well as a good strategy. You need to have a viable business model too. If you generate lots of targeted traffic to a lousy offer page, you probably won't make a profit.

    PPC is a tool that can be used to send targeted traffic to a web page. PPC alone doesn't make you successful, you must have an effective offer before employing PPC if you want to be successful.

      Would everyone agree that keywords is what makes or breaks you for getting traffic. And what are some good niches the one i made some money off of was how to jump higher i made 100 bucks in 14 clicks and then i stopped it for some reason lol i guess i wasnt thinking, i migh go back to that one

    If you are direct linking to a CB product, think of how easy it is for someone to just copy your "business." Not much barrier to entry, and you're not really adding any value to the experience.

    With that said, it can be done, heck I do it a little, but I wouldn't put a ton of time into it and I'd be afraid if that methodology was paying my mortgage.

    Harlan did an interview with a PPC guru on Tactic 7, illustrating this point brilliantly.

    He uses the anaology of a lemonade stand. The idea of direct linking is basically driving around, looking for a lemonade stand and then setting up one right next to it, hoping to siphon off some of the business. Makes it look rather silly in the real world.

    So to answer your question, the truth is PPC works if you are sending people to revelvant information and providing value.

        Think about the business model, I know there are people who make great money selling click bank products, but why not focus on selling a few big ticket items on the back end?

    the value of any business is in the list first and the backend second. Not in the immediate fist sale (there are exceptions of course). That's why a CB e-book can give away 75% of the purchase price in comissions. They are making 5x-10x that on the backend if they are any good.

    I think you have to look at what you have to offer first: What expertise can you find or borrow, then find or make the appropriate product, not the other way around.

    To that, there are no easy answers. IHMO anything that is worth a sh$@ and that has a chance of lasting, takes hard work, time and dedication. Basically the opposite of almost every IM pitch we fall for (me included sometimes).

      It's important to know how to write your ads to keep your cost per click down too. If you write bad ads, Google punishes you by charging you way more money per click. For example, your ad has to be keyword relevant to the keywords you are bidding on. If you bid on the keyword "auto repairs" and then your ad says "Buy car insurance today!" that's not a match, so they punish your sloppiness with a very high cost per click.

      I've heard it referred to as "The stupid tax".

    Hi Harry,

    PPC marketing, if done right, is one of the most effective ways to drive targeted traffic and to ultimately make you money.

    But, one of the major mistakes lots of advertisers commit is that they implement Adwords with out the knowledge of all its critical elements.

    You must know the techniques, strategies and management issues behind PPC marketing so as to get the most from it.

    At least, you should implement these critical components to get the most from PPC marketing.
    1. Finding the Most Profitable Keywords;

    2. Writing a Powerful and Compelling Ad Copy;

    3. Bidding for Optimum Spot which brings Optimum ROI;

    4. Targeting your ad so as to reach the right audiences for your products or services ;

    5. Developing and optimizing highly powerful landing page that converts ;

    6. Proper account organization;

    7. Managing your account effectively and efficiently ;

    8. Quality Score Boosting techniques .

    9. The right fighting Strategies .
    The bottom line is making money using PPC Marketing is not as difficult as you think. The trick is to coordinate all components as one powerful system.

    If you are omitting or doing wrong any of these things, you will definitely lose money in PPC marketing.

    I hope it helps.

        After all, how many free hours do you have per day for doing & managing your PPC campaigns? Knowledge is not a power if no action is being taken. You can read tonnes of ebook and watch 100's of PPC video courses, but do you really have TIME to take actions?

        I would say that picking a wrong biz model = riding a dead horse.

        Good Luck.

    I would seek out a guru here in the forum, spend some money with them to hold my hand for a couple campaigns and figure out from there. There are several people that make there living coaching in the forum as well as people with offers in the Sig files. Reach out to them, maybe you have something you could exchange for their services. Spend your time wisely!!

    Stick to basics, tight focused adgroups, run your keywords thru msn commercial intent, get rid of anything that comes up as high non-commercial intent for now.

    PPC has proved to be a great traffic generation tool for my sites and a great traffic generating tool, however I believe success from PPC doesn't lie just in the campaign itself but also a great deal on the quality of the landing page.

      You are right, but 9 out of 10 I.M ebooks are talking about ways of making on Adwords. Well the more newbies DON'T make money, the more those ebook authors (a.k.a gurus) will CASH IN as simple as that. It's sad, but it is also true...

      Good Luck anyway!

    a while ago i posted a calculation showing that it is indeed VERY difficult to break even (let alone make huge profits) witht the majority of clickbank products/niches and PPC.

    The calculation is as simple as taking average cost per bid/CB payouts...and search volumes for given keywords. In this calculation i kind of "proved" that for certain KWs/niche its mathematically not possible to make mega-profits, eg. $500+/day. Reason: There is just not enough search volume.

    There are average numbers which VERY OFTEN are seen in real life, with clickbank those are conversion rates of AVERAGE 1:80....means 80 clicks/sale which is really, really bad. The math doesnt just add up.

    Despites those numbers observed by MANY affiliates using your typical CB product.....of course every clickbank VENDOR makes it seem ultra easy, providing ridiculous "advice" about PPC keywords which in reality NEVER works.

    Look at your typical vendor affiliate-material and see their "recommended keywords". They make you believe that you just need THEIR product and use some ultra-broad term keywords (examples..) like "make money" or "money online"...and the money comes rolling in.

    NOTHING can be farther from the truth.

    The key with clickbank is that you need to find a good niche and do very good keyword research, probably never even go over $0.20 - if at all.

    You can also look on CB and see that from the 10.000 products there about 99,9% pay less than $25..and only extremely FEW have attractive payouts which make PPC halfway interesting.

    Mainstream products like "green energy" and "fat loss" and so forth have ridiculous overpriced bids for keywords...eg. bidding $0.80++ for "green energy" related terms is utterly ridiculous if you know your avg conversion rate and know that you get maybe only $30-$40 per sale. Same thing with certain health niches where MOST of the products pay $25. Those numbers basically just scream "LOSS" before you even start PPC for the keywords.

      There is one glaring ommission from this thread - TRACKING! If you are not tracking your keywords you might as well empty your wallet down the sink.

      Also, be prepared to lose some money up front until you find converting keywords. If your on a budget run with just 10 kwds for at least 3-5 days and set your daily budget low. In all honesty you need to spend about double the value of your commission per keyword before deciding whether to run with that keyword or not.
