Question on Press Releases

So we know that google doesn't value links from Press Releases that much - however, if the press release gets picked up by yahoo news, with a link back to your site, is that link also devalued?

There is value to a press release if it is picked up by news services, bloggers, etc. which result in a link back to your site. These would still be valuable - the better the site, the more value. What isn't valued is simply spamming PR sites. But if it gets picked up you're in good shape.

how did you get picked up by Yahoo News? Did you use a PR distributor such as PRWeb?
