Is this expired domain safe to buy?

Hi, this is the first time that I'm going to buy an expired domain. The domain that I looking at is already expired but when I check the site root or sub pages (www.domain.com or www.domain.com/abcdef which I found from google cache)
I found that it is hosted with blogspot.com, all the content still there.
When I visit the http://domain.com it show up that it is parked with google app.
When I checked the whois database, it do expired, but registrant name is Domain By Proxy.
Is the above situation has anything unusual?
As for backlinks, I've checked with majestic seo and everything seems to be okay.
