Backlink checker tool that you recommend that is free?

Hey warriors,

During the course that I am taking, he mentions to use ahrefs as one of your backlink checker tools. I was wondering if yall could recommend me a free alternatives for a backlink checker tool. One that preferably checks a backlinks strength.

    Hi Zack ... for the most part, backlinks don't have "strength" as if it's some sort of objective, inbuilt, immutable, measurable parameter.

    The strength of a backlink to your site depends on many different parameters, not all of them clear or well-known, to put it mildly, but one of the most important ones (as Google says openly and as countless people have independently confirmed, too) is the relevance to your own site of the site - not just the page! - on which the link appears.

    ("Relevance", in this context, is defined by commonality of vocabulary, more or less).

        This one works ok: Backlinks Checker Tool - Backlink Watch

        But I'd suggest you open a Google Webmaster Tools account to check the back links of a website you own. For sites you don't own the above link works ok, i'm sure there are better ones available, just do a search for back link checker.

    What I mean't to say was, I love ahrefs as for a backlink tool. They give you a certain limit for a free account then you have wait until tomorrow. But I was hoping to find free alternatives.

      You can also use the following services:

      Majestic SEO : Backlink Checker & Site Explorer
      Open Site Explorer

      And, if it's your site that you are checking then registering with Google Webmaster Toools and Bing Webmaster Tools will also provide you with more backlink data.

    There isn't any tool that will show you ALL backlinks that your website has. Backlinkwatch is a great tool to get the idea of your backlinks, but my suggestion is NOT to "count" these backlinks, but work hard on your keywords and try to rank for them. There is no confusion, that you can have 10,000 backlinks pointing to your website, but you could be on 100+ pages in Search Engines. So, just do NOT stop working on your SERP!
