Link Disavowing - Why does it take so long?

Hi,

I made a list of links to disavow... and uploaded. However, it's been 2 months+ and Google still hasn't applied it - from what I can see.

I know it can take long. Any ideas on how to speed it up or why it takes this long?

Could I have done something wrong? (file is uploaded, it's there, can't see anything wrong with it...)

Just because you request for links to be disavowed does not mean Google will grant your request. When the tool came out they stated this. They also, if I remember correctly, said to expect a 6 week or more turnaround time.

As with anything Google support wise, you can expect to wait a long time...

Has anyone found this to work well? And noticed significant SERP or PR rank differences that can be linked to the change?

To me hasn't worked at all so far. 2 months+ and I've already updated the disavow list and still can't see any results.

I am indeed expecting significant PR and SERP changes as well, after this change takes place.

It was NOT designed to "work."

If you had really done some research, you would not have even used disavow.

A better idea, is to just start creating GOOD links.

Google is certainly not going to answer webmasters about such low level
nonsense. They don't care about you or your sites, nor do they want or
need to take a personal interest.

"Google" even came right out and said nobody, and they mean nobody,
should ever have to use such a tool.

Google did not create this thing to help webmasters, contrary to popular
      belief.

Has anyone got good help from this Disavow tool. Is it worth investing time in using it, or manually removing the backlinks is a nice idea?

Thing is I am trying to purge several very poor backlinks from several hundred URLs. It would be great if this tool worked...

Manually removing that many is rather impossible... contacting so many people to remove them... imagine: it could take months (at least).

I'll give the disavower some time. Hopefully it will start working. But it's at least sluggish: 2+ months waiting time and nothing 's moving.
