Do you have multiple Adwords accounts? If so, do you use all your same info for each or how do you do it?

It's against their terms to have more than one. If they catch you, you'll probably get them both closed.

Can I have multiple AdWords accounts?

No. In order to preserve the quality and diversity of ads running on Google, individuals advertising for themselves or for their own businesses may only have a single AdWords account unless explicitly advised otherwise by Google.
This means that we don't allow advertisers or affiliates to have any of the following:
      • Ads across multiple accounts for the same or similar businesses
      • Ads across multiple accounts triggered by the same or similar keywords
Only client managers (such as third parties or search engine marketers) who use a My Client Center can have multiple AdWords accounts. All associated accounts must be linked to the manager's My Client Center account.
If you're interested in creating a My Client Center so you can manage multiple AdWords accounts for other people, you can sign up for Google Advertising Professionals. This program provides you with free tools and training to help you manage clients successfully.

No it's not. I have 4 accounts - I think you miss understand. You need to get permission from them first and ask them to link it up to your manger account. it's only against their terms if you have separate ones from the main one that is not linked.
My Client Center (MCC) - AdWords Help

If you get to a point that quite a few of us who are over at PPC Classroom, creating loads of campaigns, and eventually have clients etc, you eventually max out your full capacity, ie, 2500 adgroups, 50,000 keywords. And in some other cases, if you contact the support they will allow you to have this raised.

This is an intersteing discussion, old but good.

I am an adwords proffesional "well signed up and managing several accounts anyway"

Recently my personal adwords account was closed due to a landing page thatr i used over two years ago, a weebly page actually and it was closed due to low LPQ (landing page quality)

I asked them what would happen with the many other accounts that i managed and they said they have no problem with me managing other accounts but that my personal account had been closed indefinately.

So basically I can run as many campaigns through other accounts but not through my own strange. But thatrs the nature of the beast.

As per the TOS, I used to tell people that you should not have more than one account. I recently found out however that they do allow more than one and under the same credit card too. They need of course to be under different emails.

Just don't do it to have more than one ad at the same time for the same keywords. They will link them together and to Google, they will consider all your accounts as one. As Loz says, you need to get permission. The rep I spoke to never mentioned linking them through an MCC but it's logical to do so as it would simplify management. You are still supposed to follow the guidelines and if you don't follow them, you could get all your accounts banned.

Having said that, there are few instances I can think of where you would need more than one account. None of my clients have ever needed more. The reason I asked is because one potential client would as he plans to handle PPC services for a large number of people all owning a franchise in different cities. He wants to do it from one account obviously but would quickly run into the 25 campaign limit.

You can always find affiliate's who are already using Adwords to promote a similar product and win them over to your product...

Then they use their account (and time) to promote your product...with a nice commission.

Just make sure to give them a good list of converting keywords you are having success with...

      Hello all,

I have two questions about running MCC.

I have few small business clients would like me to manage AdWords account for them. I plan to offer them a prepaid package. This mean I will need to create accounts and make payment for them on behalf. First question is can I use same credit card details for all my client accounts? Will I get ban? I will link all these accounts under my MCC.

The second question is can I run two or more accounts under the MCC bidding on the same keywords ?

      Thanks in advance.

I have the same question about the MCC as I DO want to make the full payment myself, and then bill out the clients myself...is this possible with MCC?

And, The second question is can I run two or more accounts under the MCC bidding on the same keywords?
        Thanks!

Hello Eshera, for the first part to do that you would be using the same card to pay multiple accounts ? I am not sure how this would work and maybe others can advise further on that, but more so why ? possible i would not recommend this, a better option and in use with your mcc is each client would add their own funds and this would be best practice, they do not pay = they do not play.

As to the second part of your question that will be your call, but taking from part one if you are using one card to pay for these accounts then on those account bidding on the same keys, I think i would have alarm bells and sirens going off everywhere if i was the big G.

On a smaller scale you would have to say no to bidding on the same keys as a conflict of interest, on a larger scale if there independent account managers within a company it may be it could be done but again that would be a tough call, but one i suppose you could opt for.

Morisato, according to the rep I spoke to, you can open different accounts with the same credit card. According to her, there should be no problems as long as you follow the policies because they will consider all these accounts as one. You could call yourself and confirm with another rep because I was skeptical since the TOS says you can have only one account.

However, I strongly suggest not to use your own CC. The client should pay for the click costs, not you. Your job is to manage and optimize the account, not to pay for they advertising costs which you will be accountable for since it's your card.

Yes, you can have many accounts linked to your MCC that use the same keywords. Personally, I don't take clients in the same industry that would advertise in the same geographic region but you can do it.

Well, not sure what your goal in having more than one account is but....you could have one for yourself and one for your spouse if you are married. Just make sure that the two mailing addresses are different.

Yes you can and should... its great for manipulating different keyword niches and screwing your competitors. Here's how you do it:

Make sure that you have a proxy service and log in from the same IP for each new account. Try and use a different credit card for each account (I have 6 bank accounts so its no problem with a visa or MC debit card). Also create a new address for each but make sure that zip code matches your home address to pass AVS check. You can change the street name and city but the zip must match.

    Voila! Good luck!

I got caught and banned today from Adwords for having multiple accounts. They even banned my personal account that I have been using for years.

Does anyone know the fastest and safest way to get back up and running with Adwords?

    Thanks in advance

Tim, i think the first option would be to open some dialog with adwords and work through those options first, / past that ?

Sometimes it would be necessary to open multiple accounts for one company. We have several completly different brands, with all their own costings. So for each brand we should need to make a separate adwords account, however billed to the same account number.

I have these accounts also linked in a MCC.

That is acceptable. However, you probably could just have used one account and make things simpler. You can also ask Google to increase your limits if needed. I have a client with over 150k items and growing, each has their own group in different categories. The old standard limits would not have allowed this and multiple accounts necessary.

I have only one account in Google adword keyword tool, making more then one account have any benefit?
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[4722057].message }}
  • Profile picture of the author Lucid
There really is no benefit to having more than one account. For the vast majority of cases, one is enough as the limits are more than enough to promote thousands of products. And even those limits can be increased so you can have tens of thousands.

The only reason people have more than one is to be able to use the coupons. This is technically against the TOS but Google will not mind as long as you don't try to use them to try to dominate the listings with many ads to the same product/URL (which wouldn't work anyway) or same/similar product to different URLs.

Of course having many accounts has its own problems. You need to create them with different email addresses but that is fairly easy to do. Accessing them is easy too by linking them through a MCC account.
