When to Run FB PPC Ads?

I'm targeting local small biz owners and am trying my first PPC campaign on Facebook and need to decide when to run my ads and for how long.

It would seem the best time to run the ads would be in the evening in the middle of the week and Sundays starting around 7 pm.

I would prefer to run the ads only on those days in the evening but apparently you can't get that specific. There's an option for when to start and stop the campaign but I'm not sure how long I should let it run.

Any insight into how to time a campaign is appreciated.

Over the weekend is good but I don't really find great activity for my pages at Sunday. Weekdays from Monday - Wednesday is also good, especially for small biz owners!

All in all though, I usually just run my campaigns all week long, but i see most activity at Monday - Wednesday from Afternoon to Evening.

  • Paul,

This feature is not designed to show ads during specific time periods during the day when users may or may not be active on the platform. Instead, it is designed for broader time frames like start of school semester, holidays, seasons, etc. Its meant to be an ad management tool so that advertisers don’t have to go in and stop their campaigns once a peak season has passed.

So unless you are targeting something with seasonality or some other kind of half-life where small biz owners will no longer be interested, I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

Another thing I have seen people use this for is budgeting purposes. They may have dollars allocated to FB advertising for a few months and then the campaign needs to stop so they can schedule it to stop anyway.

    Hope that helps,

    Shawn
