I know that WordPress configuration file (wp-config.php) that includes credentials to user and database can be moved to server's root which makes it hard for hackers to see information in that file. I also heard that there is lockdown plugin that locks access for failed password guessing attempts. This is the kind of security I am talking about and would like others shed some light on.

I noticed I got a nice jump in speed on some of my WordPress sites when I exported everything, created a new database and then imported/set everything up again.

It takes a bit of time (although it is not bad once you have done it once), but it is a nice way to clean up a site that had some problems.

There is a thing called "database optimization" which you should do rather than export and import everything.

Do you also use 2 antivirus programs on your computer for "best combination"?
