Google keyword tool makes no sense to me

The tool tells me 74,000 searches a month for a keyword. Nice. So I go into the traffic estimator to see what kind of results I would get. Traffic estimator tells me that if I'm willing to spend a max cpc of $6.55 I will average about 250 impressions per day and about 2 click thru's at a cost of $2.92 per click.

Does that make sense to anyone? The keyword has 74,000 searches a month and I can only get 2 click thru's a day?

And on top of that no one is bidding on that keyword!

Most of the people on this site are pretty savvy, so I ask; Am I just lame or is something rotten in Denmark?

      i have the same problem, after to much effort and working for days, my website ranked in page 1, but i get only 50 impressions /day, keyword searches is 10,000 /day

        Do you choose location?there's gobal monthly search and local monthly search,be sure check "Exact" match type

    The secret is to use the Google Keyword Tool for general research and then use some powerful tools like Market Samurai, as well as tools like the Stealth keyword tool. Remember your looking for commercial value, the strength of the competition, actual exact monthly searches and much more. Those tools provide valuable information to make sure you stand a good chance of success. Get the market research and keyword research wrong, then unfortunately it will be an uphill struggle trying to make money online.
