SEO PowerSuite covers almost all my all daily / weekly tasks - rank checking, backlink analysis etc. Also started using BuzzBundle for managing social accounts not long ago and the tool saves me a lot of time on that. And of course Google services - Webmaster tools, Google Analytics..

I found the results to be off too, way off!. It returned results that showed my website was backlinking to a competitor, when I contacted support, they said at some stage I must have created a backlink back to my competitor

It also returned a backlink from a paid Yellow Pages ad and claimed it as my competitors, even the anchor text was their website, this ad was high priced and had no other links on the webpage but mine and the nav menu.

The response I got from support, this is happening because the 2 websites are in the same niche and I should try a different niche to see that the software works.

    Keyword Elite V2.0
    Market Samurai (Paid version)
    Bookmark Demon

But in the end really doesn't really matter what you use but HOW you use it.
Even top marketing software will make you more damage if used in wrong way.

THE POWER IS NOTHING WITHOUT CONTROL

Let say for an example, Bookmark Demon comes with video tutorials and PDF guide on over 260 pages and if you just jump it and start your own bookmark campaign before understand all about bookmark will ruin your business before it start.
So first understand it and than use it!
Don't just think if you bought it hard work is over...

Sclark thanks for the review of BuzzBundle, I have PowerSuite and have been thinking about adding BuzzBundle but hadn't talked to anyone that had used the full version. Been playing with the free version, just couldn't see enough to tell whether it would be a good fit for my business. Maybe you could tell me a little more? I'm using Hootsuite currently but that has an ongoing fee so I have been thinking about switching if BuzzBundle is comparable. Would really appreciate the advice!!

Hi FakeItTilYouMakeIt, I didn't use HootSuite on a regular basis and that’s why can’t really compare the two tools. I was actually inclined to get BuzzBundle for the same reason you mentioned – because I had used SEO PowerSuite before. Unlike for instance HootSuite or QuickSprout, BuzzBundle doesn’t have a separate feature for analytics, but it wasn’t a big con for me, since I prefer having all data gathered 'under one roof' and I just use good old Google Analytics for that.

As for the user experience I'm having with BuzzBundle, my favorite feature (this one has been a great time-saver indeed) is finding niche-relevant blogs, forums, Q&A sites to plug in with posts and comments. I used to search for them manually and I have to say that with BuzzBundle the whole process of searching for relevant posting, commenting and interacting opportunities is a way faster and easier.

Another great feature is creating personas and switching between different projects. Whenever you start a project, you can look through the entire buzz about yours and relevant or competing services, brands, keywords and then you get the full social media/online buzz picture right in front of you. And after the initial research is done, all the SMM tasks, like posting, commenting, scheduling, monitoring are performed right from the tool. Overall, I'm having a good time with BuzzBundle and if integrated analytics from Facebook and Google is not something crucial for your tasks, then BuzzBundle is a great choice I think.

By the way, a small clarification about payments. With BuzzBundle this is exactly the same as with SEO PowerSuite, a one-time payment is valid for 6 months, and then you have to pay for algo updates ($35 for 6 months).

I also carry out a lot of research myself on competitors, look into site layout, content, keywords, structure etc........ And use the results to continuously improving my methods for SEO. To check sites stats I use SEO Genie.

Cool post, lots of interesting comments and varied responses.

Always go with Google Adowrds keyword tool, don't underestimate this tool as most of other keyword tools are based on Google Adwords keyword tool which is based on Google search data, and Google shares around 95% search volume..

I didn't see this one specifically mentioned, and it's free:

Google Suggest / Instant, which is now a part of the Google main page as the autocomplete feature.

It's just the keywords that pop up when you search. Most of you probably just do this automatically but if you don't pay attention to these, start now.

This is a slightly different list of keywords than the AdWords tool gives you, and is based on not just popularity but overall "relevance" which includes freshness.

Hint: especially if you're a blogger, you can capitalize on coming up in these autocomplete searches even if you're not on the first page for the same keyword.

Lots more info on Google Autosuggest at SearchEngineLand:

How Google Instant Autocomplete Suggestions Work

Other than that - most of the ones people mentioned, but I generally want keywords that are relevant now so I'm actually working with some friends on a tool to integrate some more relevant and more current data from various places. Yes, tools exist, but I haven't found one that does quite what I want for under $1,000 / month and I think this information should be more accessible to people like bloggers and webmasters starting out who don't have a large budget.
