I know many of you will use this as a marker, however I've been noticing more and more lately that it's not always the best indication - I've picked up a few domains on GoDaddy (i.e. domains which have tons of links pointing into them from multiple referring domains, PR 3-4) for pittance for what I believe is this exact reason i.e. people noticing the info: command displays a different site.
Whether the links are contributing to the value is worth questioning, however for the money it's absolutely worth a punt. Basically, ALWAYS worth checking the backlinks...or more to the point, total referring domains.
*On a separate note, I've also seen a few high value sales lately (relatively speaking) i.e. over $400 each, for domains that are PR 5 but the vast majority of that "value" (questionable value IMO) is driven by a single link - surely the world's worst business decision? Particularly a homepage link which is prone to being removed once it's detected.
