I'm considering switching some lower traffic domains over to hostgator. They will be moved from a dedicated IP address to a shared IP address and shared hosting.

Any SEO ramifications I should know about before making the switch?

If it is Hostgator, then I don't think you need to worry about it too much, considering they are low traffic domains.

If you use wordpress, disable plugins before moving, because directory will be change in new host, and maybe new host does not have same function like old host. Especially cache plugins.

If these sites were all on the same IP before, if you move them to another IP that they will all share once again it should not make any difference. Websites move to different servers all the time. The only advice I have is to eliminate any chance of downtime by keeping the old versions of your sites live while you are setting up the sites on your new server. Also keep them both live for a few days after you change your nameservers over to your new hosting account since DNS propagation can take a while globally.
