hello,

i was wondering what is better for seo, a homepage that is static - the same page all the time, or to put there a list of the the posts - as in wordpress default?

the thing is that the categories are also have previews of the posts and it can be count as duplicate content of the homepage?

also after panda is it better to have wordpress platform or just simple html website?

thanks!

I have ever separate concerned that Google panda or penguin is not here to punish high quality pages and site so now the question is fear for spammers those cheat search engine to rank better. I like to say that whether you have site from html (static) or using and CMS like wordpress just need to be updated with quality assurance and make profitable things for your visitors. Search engine will sure rank to your website here -

I prefer dynamic home page wordpress because it updates regularly and provide fresh content to Google spider and also good feel to visitor if content is unique then it is plus point.

If you use the canonical tag on your content, you will be fine. No duplicate content issues.

It doesn't matter. It is all HTML when the page renders.

As for the original question... if you are trying to rank your homepage for keywords, I would stick with a static page.

One thing people do not realize when they use latest posts on the homepage is that depending how often you are posting, your homepage content is constantly changing. This can often be the cause of what many call the Google Dance.
