Segmenting The SEO Beginner Community

I'm putting together an online SEO course for beginners and I want to make sure it is properly tailored to the audience. I would appreciate any and all suggestions about what market segments would be meaningful. I assume most buyers would be solopreneurs just because there is a lot more solopreneurs than anything else. But within that, does it make sense to segment by industry? By special interest? Or something else entirely? I don't want the video course to fail because I simply didn't hit the market right.

i Would cover the absolute basics first, then once this is covered, you can break down into niche's etc?

The only segments of the SEO community I can think of are blackhat and whitehat.

Other than that, everyone who wants SEO basically wants the same thing: free search engine traffic via high rankings.

You include step by step process used in both On Page and Off Page. It will be more helpful for beginners.
