Mike Anthony did some research lately and he came up with 26 or 27 links, not sure, perhaps you have to search his posts where he mentioned it as it are always the tiny things that can make a huge difference.

About new technique's hmmm, I heard Pinterest is pretty hot at the moment, 500 repins for 5 bucks at Fiverr, if you're lucky they last at least 3 weeks so perhaps you can ask them to dripfeed them as 27 * 21 days comes pretty close to 500.

Thanks for the reply dear, i just make quality 15 to 16 links for one website and getting good results for my keywords. So for now i am satisfied

  I do make some web 2.0 links using quality content and some directory submission using different anchor text as well as description. Mostly i am active on google+ page, twitter, facebook,tumblr and high Pr websites.

Google has always been particular with user experience, so original and valuable content and an easy to navigate website are very necessary. Having interesting content and fast loadable site will attract visitors and this will increase targeted traffic. Aside from that, avoid anchortext overoptimization, avoid duplicate content, avoid blasting links since this could cause negative link velocity, should have diverse link profile, and build links to domains with good quality and high authority.
