Hi.. i got this domain that is forwarded to a new site of mine for its juice from the past.

Now i was wandering, if i blast variety of links to that forwarded domain, will the juice pass fluently to the new domain or is there a chance to get the new site penalized?

Of course YES. Penality will pass over same as your backlinks juice. As always it really depends if your redirected domain is solid enough to resist at yours ''blasting''.

So basically, let's say you have a highly penalized site with loads of spammy backlinks from all kind of sources. One day you decide to redirect this domain to your competitor site. Your competitor get penalized, right? Looks like a negative seo to me.

In theory, it seems that there is a chance the new site could be penalized. Since link juice is passed through a redirect, one would think that any negative affects could also be passed.

However, it is debatable how much link juice is passed through a redirect. The link juice from a redirect doesn't seem to be as much compared to backlinks pointing to the site. Thus, it would probably take a ton of spammy links to negatively affect the new site (if it can be affected at all).

I think is better to make something good to beat your competitors, and to not make so big things to damage them properly

It depends on what you mean by blast. Idiotic spam blast, or good link blast?

Making links to a redirected domain is a little foolish. You are trying, over
time, to wean yourself off of the domain, not embrace it.

I always wonder where people get these ideas. To do strange things
without knowing what a redirect was for in the first place.

If you use a redirect for what it was intended, you will have no problems.
    Like most things.

Tnx for all replies, i was not askin this with intention to harm any site. I have moved one of my sites and the new version has its own domain, the old one is redirected to the new one until it expires. And i was thinking of purchasing some linkwheels and pyramids to the old domain, i tought if it passes all juice safely and improves serps thats nice, if it harms the new site i will just remove the redirect. But i was curious if it can penalize its target domain or just itself. Tnx

It will penalize the target domain because the 301 tells Google that the new site IS the new home of the old domain. So it's more or less the same as spamming your site directly.
