Is this a good strategy?

Hi all,

Wanting to know your thoughts on my seo plan:

Finding 5-10 relevant blogs a day and commenting on them. Sometimes I add my website to the body, but it's always attached to my name. They're all moderated so am waiting for them to be approved (any thoughts on how long this takes?)

Have redesigned my site to be more simple, it now has a logo and social butons (has been liked once on facebook and once on Google+) - these were only installed 2 days ago.

Getting about 5-10 visitors a day. When I search on Yahoo or Bing my main page turns up in 2nd place. Have confirmed this on my housemates computer and my mobile (yet no ranking tool will show me being anywhere in the top 100 of any search engine). Don't understand that at all, but I know that I had 4 unique visits from Bing based on 4 separate search terms that I didn't work towards.

Is this the best plan? Just keep working on adding articles and backlinks?

    The commenting way is hard to generate traffic from other blogs, however you can build a good relationship to other bloggers. And also build backlinks toward to your blog/ site. Make sure to leave high quality comments to high quality & high traffic blogs only to get approval.

    If you want generate traffic other blogs which have high traffic, consider guest blogging method. Make sure to provide unique & high quality article to get accepted by a blogger.

      Thanks himanuzo, I was looking at the blog commenting more for backlinks to rank well in Google, any traffic via those means is just a bonus. Thanks for reminding me of the guest posting option. A nice 100-300 word guest post with a link might be helpful.

      What do you think of the dripfeed submission tools such as Ultimate Demon? Also can RSS feed submitters result in negative ranking from Google, or duplicate content?

    I don't think those SEO plan good enough for your site.
    Blog comment usually need to base on the admin where sometime they might set the blog comment to nofollow , or they lazy to approve commnet then the time of doing those backlink is wasted. Don't depend only one way of doing backlinks, it not enough .
    You need go for more , forum posting, guest blog post, article, press release, submit classified , directories.
    Appear as much place as you can with quality post and try to build on high PR website.

    Rank well on two keywords is not enough while you need check the monthly search is it enough for you to convert and how is your conversion rate on that keywords.
    Try to get atleast 5 to 10 keywords to target.

      I would suggest not to rely only on blog commenting/links. Go with content marketing strategy and engage your audience with quality content (on and off your website). Publish blog posts in relevant niche blogs and use social media sites to get quality traffic to your site.

      I would say directory submission is not too bad, if you are using relevant and high quality with high pr directories.

      That really depends on the directory. The are a few good directories that are worth submitting to, especially if they offer a widget that helps you in getting traffic. Check out the link in my sig for an example.

    Guest post is obviously the best option but apart from that you can also try article submission, this may not help you to improve your traffic but obviously help you in improving your search ranking in Google.

    To improve your visitors be active on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter & Google Plus.

    Your plan really depends on the competitiveness of the keywords you are going after. If you are going after obscure terms with little to no competition and your site has quality content it shouldn't be hard with what you are currently doing. But if they are highly competitive you'll need to add some quality links from pages with PR into the mix. Analyze the sites that are ranking on 1st page results for the keywords and see what your competition looks like.

    5 to 10 links a day sounds like a good way to get penalized or that specific page penalized, especially if your using the same exact anchor text. Seen people ranking number one for a page and continue to add more links, the page(s) dropped in SERP's drastically and stayed that way. Attacking a page with links may work short term but seems to kill a page overtime.
