Some people don't even know it exsists!

I was out to dinner with some friends and I was mentioning that some of my keywords were ranking on page 2 and I was working to get them on page 1.
Everyone at the dinner understood what Google was and said they used it everyday but 2 out of the 5 people at the table did not know there was more than one page of search results. They never bothered to look at the bottom of the page and see the "next" button.

I think what I learned from this is that information we take for granted may be unknown to the average web searcher.

I'd be interested to haer other Warriors experiences like the one I had yesterday.

I have talked to people that give me their email address when I ask for their website. They thought their email address WAS the website. Or vice versa. I ask for their email and they give me their website.

You would be surprised at exactly how many people are clueless to the "Next" feature at the bottom, just goes to show how important it really is to get in the top 10 listings.

I too have a site on page 2 right now that I am trying very hard to get on first but it is extremely competitive niche and well over 30 mil searches...wish me luck!

Haha... the above comments are so true. A lot of people won't be familiar with things like Google. They'll only be able to see the tip of the iceberg kind of thing.

As for the whole mixing up the email address with website url... My mother does that all the time.. bless her. Lol.

I guess, that's why for many niches it is so important to get onto page 1.

If they do look at all the listings on the first page I will be very happy as my site is rank number 9 and yet is received a negligible amount of traffic.

Most people only look at the top 3 to 5 listings on google.

For ezinearticles it is worst, they only look at the top article (1st) in the Most Views Articles (90 days) category. My article is ranked second and yet I received less than 50 viewerships after spending a great amount of effort building backlinks and other techniques to get it where it is now.

I was 'conned' by a guru that if your article appear on the Most Views Articles you will be bombard with unlimited viewerships. Yet my experiences tell me otherwise.

Wow.....that's funny, but it's the sad truth, people just don't look beyond the first page.

From my experiences people seldom look beyond the top five listings on the first page of google.

My website is listed on the bottom of 1st page (9) and yet it received negligible amount of traffic. It is in a very competitive niche with about 22,000 searches per month.
