Does local organic seo exist? I thought it didn't but whenever I search something like "golf course" or realtor or something local I get local places results as well as everything in organic being local. Is this because I'm logged into the G or is there a way to actually do local seo for local organic searches?

    It's still exist...
Target your backlinks with "golf course + country"
    Example: "golf course san diego"

You mean city? San Diego is a city, so if we target like this we will get people looking at "golf course" that live in San Diego?

It still exists as Google provides the option of listing your business city specific at :www.google.com/local/add/ which allows you add description, keywords after which you get verification call for confirmation your address.

I know thats for google local places but I was talking about the organic results. When I search "golf courses" I get local results instead of golf courses from around the country

You are getting personalized results. Sign out of Google. Go Incognito or get out of Chrome. Shut your blinds then search again.
