So earlier today I noticed my website was all the sudden on the first page of bing, in 3rd position, previously it had been on page 4 or 5. I was excited! Later in the day....... I am now not even ranked at all. What is the deal with bing? At least with google there is some consistency but with bing I see things similar to this happen with my websites all the time. Anyone have any insite?

I am amazed to see that your are focusing a lot on Bing. We focus a lot on Google only because our company is getting more traffic only from Google. So, we don't bother about our keyword position in Bing.

I gave up with Bing a long time ago. My rankings are so incredibly low on it compared to Google. From what I have read bing likes high quantities of backlinks. Seems like the sites with spammier link profiles rank higher on bing.

You can be in the first page on yahoo/bing, and get poor results, i am in the first page in only one month, but i don't get traffic from it, and i am in third of the same keyword in google, and receive more traffic then yahoo/bing toghether in first position

It's their algorithms working. Ignore that and keep working on building many quality backlinks and you will soon see your website ranking safely at the top.

All website rankings fluctuated, even Google. Actually especially Google. Different niches have different algo, and depending on the time of day and geo-location (if your niche needs geo-targeted traffic), you're rankings will always flux. And if there is a new competitors rocketing through the rankings, that top 10 will flux.

Think of the SERPs like an ocean, and each position like boats. Some new guy can come in with a freaking Mega yacht, and disturb rankings hundreds of feet from you.

The problem is most people think SEO is a vacuum, but they have to realize, the competition also effects their rankings. There are 10 spots, if someone is rising in those 10 spots, obviously someone else has to start falling, there are only 10 spots.

What if in this instance, it's you that's dropping?
