My website ranks differently on google depending on what computer I'm using. Why?

Ok so today I get home from work and decide to type the main keyword for my website in Google to see where my site was ranking.

It has been bouncing around page 3-4 for a few days now.

So I type it in and realize my site is on page 1 of google. So i call up some friends and tell them to type it in and see where it shows up for them....Hmm its there but its at the bottom of the page instead of the top where I see it.

Another friend says my site is on page 3?

My browser shows my site at the top of google and the browser on my phone shows it at the bottom of page 1.

I'm so confused.....

Someone said I'm getting page rank mixed up with search engine rank?

Can someone please explain why this could be happening?

Thanks,
Devin

Maybe you have different page ranks used that's why it is not regular in page 1.

G has many datacenters and you might not get the results from same datacenter everytime so that is the reason the results vary.

It could also be due to personalised search - i.e. if you often click through search engines to a website, the search engines will move it up the rankings - but only for you.

There is a 'personalised' plug in for Firefox about, this will ensure you see more realistic results

Ok that explains it. So it looks like my site is definitely on page 1!

    Thank you!

If you are signed on any of your Google accounts then you will get personalized results for your search.
