I am launching a site using wordpress. To save time I am mixing in some plr with my own original content.

My questions are:

Will the plr posts affect my chance with google for the entire site or just the posts with plr content?

Should I add a noindex tag to the posts that are plr or should I not force the issue with a noindex tag and wait to see what google does?

Launching a new site with PLR content is not a good idea. The content already exists and is indexed elsewhere so you won't get any benefit and Google will not give you a second thought if you don't have unique content to offer.

Stick to unique content for both the benefit of your visitors and Google. This is a long term process and it's never a good idea to cut corners early on.

Thank you for your input Spanisheye, and I totally agree with what you are saying, but I don't want this thread to turn into a discussion of whether or not I should use plr. I know the implications. But how will it affect my overall site in google's eyes?

Is there anyone out there who knows the answers to my questions?

An added note: I modified the theme to display excerpts on the main page and category pages. The excerpts are my own hand-written, original descriptions. The only place the plr content will appear is on individual posts.

Duplicate content on any page or post of your blog/site will raise red flags in G easily.

It is suggested that you don't put PLR content as it is rather modify it upto 40-50% to make sure you don't find youself victimized for duplicate content.
