My website creation strategy.......

So the main source of revenue I have used to make some money so far is adsense. I have tried clickbank, it seems spammy and no one purchases anything. I have tried amazon, commission is just way to low to make anything. So seems that adsense is the way to go, you can produce quality sites, throw a few ads on there, and got a little bit of dough here and there.

Here's what I've been doing:

I'll spend a few hours a day on google adwords trying to find an EMD that has very little competition. Once I find something that interests me (must have at least 1000 exact searches per month in adwords), I do the following:

To find out how much competition it has I'll search in google with quotes (ex: "weight loss") and see how many results are found. If it is less than a certain amount that I have determined(usually less than 20,000 or something), I consider using it.

I check out godaddy and make sure that the .com, .net, or .org is available for that EMD. If it is, I'll purchase it.

I have a certain structure I use with every site so I'll set up the site with wordpress. I outsource my articles so I'll have 3 articles of 500 word or more written (all targeting different keywords from the niche) and put them on the site.

Then, I submit my sites to google and bing to be indexed. Once they are indexed and I see my first trickle of traffic start coming through, I will put my adsense ads on the page. If I see a little traffic and things look to be good, I will start building backlinks through forums, blog posts, web 2.0, etc.

Before I had a certain formula to follow I would fail pretty hard but it seems like now that I know what I'm looking for and what I'm doing things things are going well.

I have taken a break lately to let things ride out but I am consistently making a few bucks a day off of 3 or 4 sites using adsense ads.

I'm thinking about building up a network of a bunch of sites that are all making a few bucks a day and generating a lot of revenue. This seems like the best way to go. Anyone else do this or have tried this before? Looking for feedback, comments, etc. Thank in advance.

    Personally, I don't think that's a good idea. Google doesn't really like bunch of MFA (made for Adsense sites). You might wake up one day seeing that all your sites have been tanked. Imagine that feeling -.-

    Instead, try to build 1 or 2 authority sites on a specific niche. To generate revenue there are several ways, but I would stick with highticket item (hosting for example) and/or listbuilding.

    No matter what you decide to do I wish you good luck ; ] And oh, try to build only high quality links. I would avoid blog comments, forums, wiki's, web2.0's etc. But then again, it's only me. I know some people are still creating web2.0's and doing really well.

    online only is right: the whole "build 100 MFA sites that make $1/day and therefore make $100/day" ship has sailed.

    To thrive today you should put your effort behind one, massive, insanely useful authority site.

      I will say that I have 1 site that I am very intereseted in the subject and it is striving, it's my best one yet and keeps getting more and more traffic. So I definetly see what you mean by massive authority site.

    This is going to sound harsh, but your 'strategy' is nothing new. It is pretty much the lowest common denominator of internet marketing, literally anyone with zero notable skills can do it. If you search this forum you will find thousands of people all doing the same thing.

      They also make very little, if any, money on their "efforts". Not to mention they are the first to come crying every time Google has an algo update. Really, does the internet have need for more of these types of crap sites? Let alone your visitors...

      Also, what do you consider made for adsense? A site that has 3 articles on it and that's it? What if you have 50 different sites with 50 articles a piece that are actually decent sites? Do you consider all average blogs just "made for adsense"? I just don't see how anyone can make a living off of one awesome site.

        Trust me:

        Lots of people make money from one awesome site (myself included). But I'm not going to share it (for obvious reasons).

        In fact, one of the most common mistakes people make in SEO is to launch more than 1 site. I've made the mistake myself.

        When you build one awesome site you make A LOT more money than making 50....as counter-intuitive as that may sound.

        BTW, MFA is a site that doesn't provide any value and exists for the sole purpose of generating Adsense clicks.

      Not trying to ridicule you and was making more of a blanket statement. Over the years you see thread after thread of this. What you are proposing to do is going to end in absolute failure. Trying to sugarcoat that is not going to help. If I offended you then I apologize. So to put it in better and more sensitive text, please take a different route as has been suggested here.

      As Backlinko said, build a high quality massive site. Research your niche and put out the highest quality content for your visitors. Build a site that you personally would like to find when you are looking for information in that niche. When you do that, the money will follow. You'll also have an asset that will survive all the updates and be around for the long haul. I hope that helps you in your endeavors to find success.
