Panda #24 and Panda #25 were in January and March respectively so in keeping with the 2 Month trend, there very well could have been one scheduled for the beginning of May.

I just went and checked and 1 of my KW's dropped from #1 to #7 and one went from #9 to #2 so something changed. These are NOT new pages that are just bouncing.

Sorry, but a few sites moving around does not = an algo change.

Sites move around all the time. Sometimes they totally vanish. Sometimes they drop a little. Sometimes they improve. I've got pages ranking on page 1 which really shouldn't be. But they are. And I'm sure they'll drop down a little pretty soon.

I recognized one of my keywords totally fall out of serps from page1 #2 to page 5, I didn't do any blackhat stuff and other keywords on this domain are still in place. Don't know what this means...

NO one need get emotional. You are just dead wrong. Every update I see more black hatters crying than white hatters (and boy are they ever emotional). Many White hatters work for well established companies and their sites are ranking well and stable in the top five last year the year before and this year.

What you are claiming is a myth created by Bhatters and those that follow them to feel better about themselves and their SEO. They point at long tail results in weak serps as their only evidence while you can't see them ranking in any mainline solid competitive serp.

Seriously if Bhat SEO is so kick ass how come you never see them ranking for SEO?

Instead almost always the examples are payday loans, forex, pharmacy, casino gambling and porn. Now that doesn't mean that some black hatter can't rank but this crap about black hatters ruling the internet and white hatters get nowhere is just that - garbage. If the average user of Google only found sites that got there by bhat means then Google's results would suck. The truth is most users give pretty good results that deserve to rank.

To answer the OP's question, I have not observed any ranking fluctuations in the SERPs I am observing.

Thanks for the link. It was an entertaining read. Especially, the comments. Many of which were critical of the list and the analysis used to prepare it. The Editor later felt the need to add a note at the top of the article to distance themselves from it.

A very large portion of the list you linked to are very broad generic terms that have little or no commercial intent.

Why would anyone invest considerable resources to rank for the terms "click here", "free", or "news" (Terms 1-3)? Even if you did rank, do you think the traffic you got from "click here" would convert well? I don't think so.

The commercial terms on that list are being SEO'd using techniques outside of Google's TOS. So, it would appear any search term with any commercial value on that list is being actively grey, black, blue, purple SEO'd

You and I appear to have a different definition of black hat SEO. You don't need to use automation tools to be a black hat SEO. You simply need to build links to your website with the intent of manipulating your search engine ranking.

This includes techniques that the big boy/brands do, such as paid advertorials on major websites.

Other techniques include building high PR networks, the usual spam automation tools, guest blogging (with the sole intent of passing PR), using 301 redirects to pass pagerank, hacking websites and injecting backlinks, etc, etc.

bla bla bla The author does not "distance" himself from it. He puts down some comments and clarifications that are entirely reasonable. Maybe you should think some more. I give you two of those and "buy" but "news"gets 9 million exacts a month and um news outlets charge for impressions (conversions in that case are 100%) and viewership in their advertising model. You are trying hard but it doesn't work and never will. Three terms does not invalidate the entire list.

Don't know how to monetize 9 million mostly new viewers a month who want to read news? Step aside. I'd do it in a heartbeat.

We both know you did not run a deep analysis of 250 of the sites (1-5) backlinks some of which have thousands of backlinks. you are just making claims because the list exposes the nonsense that white hatters don't rank for competitive terms. My new site ranks for 9k+ exact buyer keywords and I haven't used that keyword in the anchor text's a single time.

I have to agree with you Nik0. I've been looking at local business websites the past few days that are ranked #1 and #2 on page one of Google for high competitive, highly searched keywords and they have zero keywords as the anchor text. Google is getting better at figuring out who is and who isn't trying to manipulate the serps.

I rank for tons of different keywords on various sites. Today I actually received more clicks then ever before....BUT, the only pages that fell in SERP's lately were two pages that I had manually linked to. No other page has lost rankings that I see.

Although I did have one other page that was ranking great until the person that submitted the article to my site created some backlinks to the page (roughly 10 links). Page went from first page to page 300 or something. On top of that it had a pagerank of 3. Google must be getting really good at penalizing unnatural linking.

No question an algo change beginning late on the 7th Pacific Time. I've had numerous sites suddenly explode with abnormal levels of G traffic. In my experience, though, this type of spike is temporary. If you're on the wrong side of the change and having a traffic drop, just keep an eye on your sites. I'm not getting excited about a couple days of extra traffic.
