Updating URL, Title. SERP Link Anchor Text

I have a page that was published on the 26/04/2004 that is ranking #4 for a particular four word phrase.

I am considering changing the structure of the:

URL: because it is very close, but not an exact match of the actual phrase.
Title of the actual page: as above.
SERP link anchor text: because it does not include the parent page, that includes one of the phrase keywords.

Any advice would be appreciated...

So if that's your plan then you would be setting up a 301 redirect from the old URL to whatever you change the URL to for that page. Do you have a specific question?

You might experience some bounces since you're changing the structure of your site, but in the end, everything should work well.Maybe some backlinks pointed to the new url's will speed up the process

You are creating a whole new page. Perfect for a 301, BUT
of course the rankings may be radically different. In fact,
I'd bet on it. However, if it is better optimized in that regard, it
could pay off in the end. Too many people are impatient and
want instant gratification. When I just started out umpteen
years ago, I created silly urls. Or at least they seem silly now.
When I learned, I left the pages up and indexed. I just created
new pages/urls, better optimized. I did learn early to leave
indexed content up. I still get funneled traffic from those old
urls that are now orphans. That's why the big but. I would
leave the old urls in place, linking to the new one. Or not.
Makes no difference if it is linking to your index page as well
      as others.

If you were disappointed in your results today, lower your standards tomorrow.

Don't change the URL, that's the last thing you want to touch. Don't remove any links pointing at the ranked page.

Changing the page title is fine, it's not nearly as big a deal as that URL.

    Building new links/pages is fine.
