    Did a quick check.

Most of your backlinks come from blogcomments. Another portion comes from web directories. Note that web directories are not always bad when they are chosen wisely.

My advice, quit making blog comments and web directory submissions. It's time for you to get some real links.

well I've been making a load of web 2.0 links.... but now I've removed those... the web 2.0 links were what initially put me up the rankings should I remove them?? I wrote unique content with them... I have ezine article links... can I somehow remove the blog comments with google disavow?

I delinked my web 2.0 link wheel and removed the links... maybe I should put the links back up but with a greater anchor text diversity... I used UAW as tier 2 links linking to my web 2.0 properites and articles... I also did pay people on fiver to link too my web 2.0 properties.. and it worked... i did notice an improvement in my rankings...

The blog comments were probably a mistake... can anyone suggest to me... what I can do too restore my rankings... yesterday I was ranking number 3 for pc cleaning on google.co.uk now I'm ranking number 98... what is the best way to get the rankings back up? Should I use google disavow and try to remove all the bad links that could have caused this too happen... are web 2.0 with unique content and links wheels... good links to have?? I thought they were as long as they had unique content.

Just saw this on one of your web2.0's
"Based on investigate analysis executed by a college, the common desk top retains 20,961 harmful organisms for each sq . in ., the primary culprits being phones which may support 25,127 psi as well as keyboards of which can maintain 3,295 psi. Loo's usually store up to to 49 organisms per sq . in ., simply because they are simpler to decontaminate. An assortment of remarkably hazardous virus-like organisms such as norovirus and HN1 flu virus have been discovered seen in computer gear utilized in places of work across the country."

I'm glad you understand what you are writing, because I'm not. Imo it's spun content.

    Just my 2 cents

Yeah some of the web 2.0s I rushed... but I took time with the articles... and some of the web 2.0s make sense... I will make sure not to use any spun content with direct back links anymore... but most of the content is unique

Come on, man! It's never a good idea to link to your spam. Google reads this forum.

Maybe not, but it would be a good idea to work on alternate one in case the first one doesn't comeback.

Can someone explain to me what exactly are REAL backlinks? Depending on who you ask and what day it is, that answer can very greatly.

A real backlink would be one that you or someone affiliated/paid by you didn't create.

            Question
Can someone explain to me what exactly are REAL backlinks?
            Answer

Seems to fit the question quite nicely.

Using that logic means that this entire conversation is pointless. We shouldn't be creating backlinks at all ... anywhere.

In spite of my sarcasm, there is some logic to your answer. No matter where, when, how you create backlinks, Google will find a way to screw it up eventually. All we can do is create our site and pray to the backlink gods, but Google will find a way to screw that up, too. Their gods are more powerful than ours.

If you were hit by penguin you'll probably need to wait another penguin refresh to benefit from any positive changes you make on your site.

Personally I would use my time to get back penalized sites only if they were

    - still making decent money
    - have a big amount of pages - when I say big I mean big
    - strictly bound with a brand name

You need to re-do your website.

    Look at this paragraph:

Bacteria and viruses are a continually evolving part of our everyday lives; Pc units and equipment are particularly vulnerable to viral contamination.

Our focus is to maintain optimum hygiene of Pcs by applying sophisticated antibacterial Pc cleaning solutions that are COSHH and Health and Safety approved.
Is your website about cleaning viruses on computers or about bodily infections? You confused me so I'm sure Google is confused.

    Also this:

Outbreaks of minor illnesses such as cold and flu can easily be controlled by enlisting our specialist sanitation services for devices such as keyboards, telephones and base units. These devices typically provide ideal temperatures and conditions for microbes to replicate, essentially making them mini eco systems for dangerous microbial life.
This has to be spun content you are combining two completely different concepts and trying to make them one.

Leave it for 1 to 2 weeks if it recovers then you should start some natural linking if it is not then find irrelevant and unnatural links. Try to remove those links or disavow them. Do not remove web 2.0 links as web 2.0 are the authority sites and google don't consider those links as spammy links. Try to update your meta content but make sure you should not avoid to include your keywords in it. Hope it will help.

Real back links or not doesn't matter, the only thing that counts is that there is power behind your back link in the shape of pagerank.

A link that never showed up on a page with pagerank has zero juice to pass to your site and is thus ineffective as hell and that alone is a good reason to not build such links as it only expands your amount of links with zero value. Or in short words: SPAM.

Congrats man. I believe in this approach so much more than planting fishy links in hopes of tricking Google. The best bet is to offer outstanding service, write compelling info, use social media to spread the message, and utilize paid traffic until word of mouth gets around and the natural links come pouring in.

The back linkers who know what they are doing will always win.

The only reason why your rankings increased is cause they removed the spammers above you. Now how are you going to beat the legit sites that are left above you, just by writing more content? That just won't do the job, believe me.

AH HA! There is the difference! What JOB are you talking about?

The job I want is the SAFEST job that will always stand the test of time no matter what links the search engines decide are spam.

I know I could dramatically increase traffic and profit with some form of quality linking, but for how long?

I'm not a risk taker, and not that greedy.

Anyone that can simply buy a new domain because of a Google update had a junk site to begin with. Notice I said site, not business.

Domains aren't businesses either way, so the point is moot.

You can switch a domain without shutting down your business.

Domains are merely placeholders we all rent each year based on the whims of domain registrars. Ultimately they're only one part of the big picture.

That said, many local businesses have very forgettable domains and websites yet are unwilling to dump that site when penalized.

That attitude makes no sense. If you take the risk of link building and SEO you should accept the fact you might have to swap out domains.

In other words, buck up, quit crying, and adjust. That's all anyone can do when Google updates - or when conditions change online, which is happening all the time.
