Wanna see some brilliant sub-domain spam?

Search this in Bing;

installment loans in california

Now take a look at the HUGE domination by this sub-domain spammer. They have ruled Bing for over a year now in the loans niche.

So do any of you know what kind of system creates these long-tail sub pages?

    The websites are virtually identical, with the exception of a few phrases.

    I see 1 sub-domain (reviews.personalmoneystore) at organic position #6 on Bing for your keyword, I hardly call that dominating.

      Yeah - Google is getting much more regional now so we are all seeing different things - glad to see at least you are seeing good results - funny thing though - the site LazerLoan in #4 is one of my first old crap sites from years ago which is long abandoned. That content was created using a microphone and then imported via a wordpress plugin on the drip.

    This doesn't seem too hard to do in Rails. The MVC framework is perfect for this. Rails GEMS (basically a plug-in) are being specifically designed for you to host sub-domains on a domain, so as to portray teh sub-domain as being it's on entity. Remember GeoCities? This is just a more elegant iteration of that. Remember seeing a bazillion Backalley Boys, or NSTYNC, or Ditsy Spears, or 98 Disease geocities pages come up for any given search for those terms...

    I wonder what framework they're using... clearing they're either hosting on Amazon EC2, or their own home servers....

    For me there were 4 identical sub-domain results. I think the results vary based on the Geo-location as well as the time of the day you search.

    Results totally depend on where you are located so that explains the discrepancy. But this type of page spam is not difficult to reproduce. (building the sites that is). The hard part is getting the links to them to get them ranked.
