Take It Or Leave It...An Adsense Question

So I have been using adsense for a few years now and it used to do quite well. In fact it was well enough for me to quit my job and live off my website income. All of my traffic came from organic search results.

Well since Google showed us what a penguin can really do I have lost almost ALL of my traffic. The little bit that I have now comes from bing and yahoo. As you know without traffic you can not get clicks which means you can not make the money.

I watched my income drop in one day to almost nothing. Sure I still get paid every month but it is nothing like it used to be.

So I decided to stop trying to please Google and focus on other traffic sources. I have found a few great sources to get targeted traffic from in the process. BUT the problem is I want to use adsense on the sites that get this new traffic.

Why is that a problem you may ask? Because I am doing some classified ads among other things to get that targeted traffic. My site is not a made for adsense site (like some in the past have been I am afraid) and I believe I offer something of value to my site's visitors...they wouldn't be giving me their consent to contact them otherwise I believe. But I am afraid adsense may be picky about this source of traffic.

With adsense income dropped so low and the chance of finally making what I used to so high what would you do? Would you risk it since adsense bans people at the drop of a hat? Or would you take what you can get and not complain?
