Ok with all the ways to get indexed "in 24 - 48 hours" in google these days I am wondering why the heck I cant seem to accomplish it. I mean I have before, but it seems recently within the past month I cant get a site of mine indexed in under 2 WEEKS for the life of me.

For instance, I took this new site, installed wordpress, created a few blog posts, blaa blaa, all the seo plugins and all that jazz..then I submitted the rss feeds and pinged the blogs...next I used Bookmarking Demon to bookmark my site to at least 60 sites....after that I created an animoto video and used Heyspread to get the site out to about 15 video sites (with my URL in the description of course)....and last of all I took the video URL's and pinged them....

That was about a week ago and all the video sites are indexed, some of the feed sites as well, and I'm sure some of the bookmarking sites are but I didnt check....yet my main site is still NOT INDEXED...what the hell!! so frustrating...

Any ideas as to why this might be happening?

Quite honestly, if I put up a simple html static site with 5 pages, it gets indexed within a couple of days. I don't do any directory or search engine submissions. Then I start adding to it. If a site is too big at first - maybe that's creating a red flag. My mini-sites also have a privacy policy and contact page. Do you have those?

Yea I hear ya. My site has the terms of use, privacy, about us, and contact us pages...then only TWO blog posts that are about 400 - 500 words each...

Starting out small so once it is indexed I can add more content....

I've been having luck getting new sites indexed pretty fast (couple of days) recently by adding them to my Ebay blog. And the Ebay blog is pretty new (few weeks old). All I do post a blurb about my new site and then use pingomatic or a similar service. Has been working like a charm, at least in April. Who knows what next month will bring? LOL

Sometimes it can take up to 6 months to get a site indexed.. there's short cuts but if you're new to SEO (the tools only perform a function they don't teach you the theory) and if you're entering a competitive niche there's a good chance that Google is waiting for you to prove your worth.

With new sites it can be sometimes best to actually not SEO at first.. in fact all SEO should really be built up over time because if Google suspects you're trying to influence your rank it can bite back pretty hard.

When you buy a domain name, buy it for at least a couple of years.. the more the better. Thousands upon thousands of fly-by-night sites start up everyday and you need to do all you can to set yours apart.

You will get indexed eventually.. but don't rush it, don't rush the backlinks (you only actually need 2 backlinks although the more the better) but make sure the backlinks you have are relevant to your niche.. once you hit 100 content pages or so Google will start to view your site a bit more seriously.

Of course you don't need 100 pages, but if you can make them it won't hurt you.. just as long as you don't mess around with your update frequency too much. What I mean by that is..

If you're updating with 10 new articles everyday then start updating with one new article a week, Google is going to change how it views the value of your site.

Likewise if you start updating at once a week then zoom straight into every day, Google may think you're adding content too fast. So start as you mean to go on.

Use this time to prove to Google that your site contains real value to surfers.

If you just want a quick hit get mentioned and linked to from a site that's in the Google News aggrogator, that gets my sites (when I do that, which I don't very often) indexed in a couple of hours.

You also gotta look at other sites you own.. if you own several sites and they are all of poor quality, Google knows and will probably assume that your latest site will be same. Also make sure you're hosted on a clean server (no porn, spam etc).

    Best of luck

It doesn't matter what method you use, if Google doesn't want you, it won't index you. So, you need at least a few pages or posts or blogs for it to crawl when the bot arrives at your site. It needs to be quality, unique content. Add the site to your Google Webmaster Account and submit a sitemap, Digg or Mixx an post, I'd say that's about it. I've not really needed to do anything else to get a site indexed from new.

I agree with Devilfish, you really need to make sure your blog content is totally unique. Google will recognise this unique hopefully, so you should be indexed within a week normally.

I can't post links yet, but this is a quick way to do it.

I can usually get a site indexed in less than an hour.....by selling it.

I place an ad on Craigslist to sell the site and in the ad I have the keywords that I want to rank for in the anchor text of the ad.

But like ALL quick index methods you need to do more work to get the site FULLY indexed.

When Google first indexes a site they only go through the home page and "maybe" a few other pages but that is usually enough.

Just remember to keep doing your SEO work or your not going get very far.

That is very strange for a wordpress blog NOT to be indexed quickly.

Do you mind sharing (publicly or privately) the URL so I can look into it further

i actually wrote an article on this.you can find it by searching for the phrase:
"How to Get Listed in Google in Less Than 48 Hours by Firdaus Hafetz"

It may not be perfect, but it did work for my websites.
